Winds across the field.
A meditation about change,
Letting go,
And feeling the air move through you.
Begin with a deep inhale through your nose.
Let it fill your chest like a breeze,
Filling a sail.
Exhale through the mouth,
Long,
Slow,
And soft.
Now,
Imagine yourself standing in the middle of a vast prairie.
The sky is endless.
The land stretches flat and wide,
Dotted with tall grasses that bend and dance in the wind.
The air moves freely here,
Untamed,
Alive,
Shifting directions without warning.
You can feel it wrap around you,
Brush your cheeks,
Lift your hair.
Take another breath.
This time,
Let your inhale be the wind moving in.
Let your exhale be the wind moving out.
With each breath,
Feel the air clearing space inside you.
Every inhale,
Openness.
Every exhale,
Release.
Notice what it feels like to let go.
To not fight the gusts or resist the calm.
The wind changes.
Sometimes cool.
Sometimes warm.
Sometimes gentle.
Sometimes strong.
But always moving.
Always alive.
Let yourself become part of that movement.
The wind doesn't hold on.
It passes through.
You don't need to hold on either.
As you breathe,
Think of something you're ready to release.
A thought.
A worry.
A pressure that's been sitting heavy on your chest.
You don't have to name it.
Just sense it.
Now imagine that thought lifting from you.
Caught in the current of the wind.
Watch it rise and drift farther and farther away until it dissolves into the sky.
Inhale freedom.
Exhale release.
Feel lighter now as though the air itself carries you.
Take in the sound of it all.
The low hum across the fields.
The rustle through dried grasses.
The way the prairie breathes with you.
You are a part of this rhythm.
Ever changing.
Never still.
Always alive.
As the wind softens,
Your breath does too.
You find yourself calm.
Refreshed.
Open again.
When you're ready,
Take one last full inhale.
And as you exhale,
Whisper to yourself,
I am free to move with change.
