In this contemplation and meditation with Sahajananda, we explore the meaning of Death and how to surrender to the reality of this circumstance. In Self-Inquiry, when asking “Who am I,” leaving the body and the thoughts aside, what about Death? Is it just another object to be abandoned? Is Death really something to be discarded as ephemeral or illusory? Before you have an intimate meeting and develop a long private relationship with Death, don’t hurry to find answers and draw conclusions.

Meditation on death is not about using a technique.

In death we pass from letting go,

Which is still a personal strategy,

To surrender.

Such meditation is not about hopes for paradise or fears of hell.

It is not even about imagining the circumstances of our death.

It is rather a surrender,

But tremendous mystery.

We allow no matter what emotion,

Fear,

Resistance,

Fear.

Usually their energies are directed by thoughts in random directions.

But now,

Preventing the indulgence in thoughts,

The energy of our emotions is redirected,

Sublimated,

Again and again,

In this sense of pure mystery.

This mystery of death is the mystery of the heart,

The same wonderment,

The same sacred calling beyond forms and concepts.

Keep your back straight.

The quality of the voice recording might be nice to be a little bit better. But thank you for bringing Hridaya school into Timer app. I have been waiting with longing for it! I am grateful!
