Hello.
Thanks for joining me today.
Our practice today is going to consist of a non-traditional mindfulness meditation technique.
In most mindfulness meditations,
There's a focus,
A home base,
Something to hone in on.
Maybe it's your breath or a chant or a mantra or outside sensations or sounds.
But today we're going to practice openness and treat our mind in an exploration type of way.
We want to approach our thoughts as an observer.
And so instead of focusing on something today,
We're going to allow our minds to wander without wandering mindlessly.
So this isn't a traditional mindfulness meditation,
But it's also not a mindless meditation.
The focus is there,
But the focus is on the awareness of observing.
Okay.
So go ahead and get comfortable.
Can you see the position?
And gently close your eyes.
Just kind of settle in.
A few deep breaths here to just start to sink down.
All right,
As I said before,
Today,
We're not going to have a home base.
We're not going to have a focus.
Instead,
We're just going to ask ourselves one simple question.
And that is,
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
And ask that question.
Make sure that you don't judge anything that comes up.
The next few minutes,
We're going to be silent and your mind will go all sorts of places.
Make sure not to judge it.
Make sure not to try to control where it goes.
Instead,
Just put your focus on the act of being an observer.
Watching yourself at the back of a movie theater and what you're watching on the screen is your brain activity at this moment in these next few minutes.
So don't judge it.
Just watch.
Just observe.
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
What do you have to show me?
