Today I will show you a fun exercise to make your heart feel light.
Let's begin.
Find a cozy spot to sit down.
Make yourself as comfortable as possible.
Grab some pillows,
A blanket,
Your favorite toy or anything else you may need to help you feel good.
Now that you are sitting in your own cozy spot,
Let's play a little game together.
I would like you to keep your hands together,
Allowing only the tips of your fingers to touch.
You want to keep an air bubble between your hands and the length of your fingers the whole time.
When you breathe in,
Stretch your hands and fingers wide apart while keeping your fingertips touching.
This makes the air bubble between your fingers bigger.
When you breathe out,
Bring your fingers closer together while keeping your fingertips connected.
This makes the air bubble between your fingers smaller.
Let's try this a few times.
Take a deep breath in while you open your fingers wide apart.
And now you can breathe out as you bring your fingers closer together.
Let's try again.
Breathe in and slowly spread your fingers wider and wider apart while you keep your fingertips touching.
Breathe out while you bring your fingers together,
Fingertips still touching.
And one last time.
Breathe in while you slowly spread your fingers wider and wider apart.
Remember to keep your fingertips touching.
Now breathe out while you bring your fingers together,
Fingertips still touching.
You're doing so well.
Now I want to see if you can make the bubble between your fingers even bigger.
Let's do the exercise again.
But now I want you to move your fingertips apart from each other when you breathe in to make the bubble between your hands bigger.
When you breathe out,
Move your hands closer together again until your fingertips are touching.
Let's try this together a couple of times.
Breathe in while you slowly spread your fingers wider and wider apart.
Allow your fingertips to move away from each other.
See how big you can make the bubble between your fingers.
Now breathe out while you bring your hands closer together until your fingertips touch again.
Allow your fingers to close even more while you keep your fingertips touching.
Before we try this again,
I would like you to think of a light feeling that fills up the bubble between your hands as you spread your fingers apart.
Perhaps you would like to put love inside your bubble or happiness or playfulness.
You can choose any feeling that feels light to you.
Now we are going to do the exercise again while we imagine our light feeling inside the bubble that we create with our hands.
Breathe in slowly while you spread your fingers further and further apart.
Imagine your light feeling filling the bubble of air between your hands and now it grows larger and larger as you move your hands away from each other.
Let's breathe out as we move our hands back towards each other.
Gently let your light feeling go and notice how the light feeling lingers around you as you bring your hands closer together.
When your fingertips are touching and your fingers are almost closed,
Your light feeling is floating around you.
Next we are going to make our light feeling bubble so big that it will surround us completely.
We are going to practice breathing just like before but instead of moving your hands just in front of you,
I want you to move your arms as far apart as they will go so that you can create a bubble of light feeling around your entire body.
We will start just like we did before with your fingers gently touching together.
As you breathe in,
Start moving your hands apart while also lifting your arms so that your hands move above your head.
Now open your arms to the side.
Stretch them as wide apart as you can.
See how big you can make your bubble around you.
As you start breathing out,
Move your arms down before bringing your hands closer together in front of you until your fingertips touch again.
As you breathe out your last bit of air,
Close your fingers together as we did before.
Imagine your light feeling floating all around you.
Let's do this two more times.
Start with your fingers gently touching together.
As you breathe in,
Move your hands apart while also lifting your arms so that your hands move above your head.
Open your arms to the side.
Stretch them as wide apart as you can.
Make the bubble filled with your light feeling as big as you can.
When you start breathing out,
Move your arms down before bringing your hands closer together in front of you until your fingertips touch again.
As you breathe out your last bit of air,
Close your fingers together as we did before.
Your light feeling is now floating all around you.
Now surround yourself with your light feeling one last time.
Start with your fingers gently touching together.
As you breathe in,
Move your hands apart while also lifting your arms so that your hands move above your head.
Open your arms to the side.
Stretch your arms as wide as you can.
Make your bubble as big as you can.
As you start breathing out,
Move your arms down before bringing your hands closer together in front of you until your fingertips touch again.
As you breathe out your last bit of breath,
Close your fingers together as we did before.
Your light feeling is now floating all around you.
How do you feel?
Is your heart feeling a little bit lighter than when we started?
Now I would like you to go into the rest of your day with a light heart.
Remember that you can do this exercise again whenever you need your heart to feel a bit lighter.
