One of my biggest insights on my path from thinking to being was when I learned about the levels of consciousness.
And in short that there are several ways to classify the levels of consciousness.
But I want to tell you the way I was taught by Michael Beckwith.
And I followed back then a course,
A quest basically,
Teached by him.
And he told me about the four stages.
Everything happens to you,
So you are a victim.
Everything happens by you,
So you are the one taking the control.
Everything happens through you,
So that you are basically serving as a channel.
And everything happens as you,
Which you could translate in being enlightened.
And he gave the exercise to start exploring in which areas of your life you were feeling or behaving as a victim.
And when I started the exercise I thought,
Probably not a lot.
And I was so surprised of this huge list that came out of my pen.
And I think for me this was a crucial point in my awareness journey.
Where I started seeing that everywhere I put myself in a victim position,
Things will never change.
I will always be that victim if I decide,
Consciously or subconsciously,
To decide to be a victim.
Just giving you a few examples.
You can put yourself as a victim to,
For example,
The weather.
If you are complaining about the weather,
That it is raining,
You are putting yourself there as a victim.
And of course you will not be able to change the weather with one push of a button.
But you are the one able to change how you respond.
And it is all about perspective.
If you are getting married,
It has been dry and sunny for months.
And on your wedding day it is the first day of rain.
You don't want that.
Then you have a different perspective from this farmer in the same situation.
Has not had any rain for his crops for months and now it is the first day of rain.
He will be thrilled to have rain.
While the wedding couple might be very disappointed.
Again there,
So the situation you are in,
The thoughts you have about it,
The beliefs,
Everything in your surroundings and what brought you there,
Determines how you will experience your situation.
And you will,
If you know that,
If you see that,
You will see that you have a choice.
How to respond.
And seeing all the big list I had with all the items,
All the situations I felt victim,
I realized that by bringing this into my awareness,
I had a choice.
I had a choice to take back healthy control.
And that was for me the biggest game changer.
Because it opened the path to positive change.
And you can apply this investigation about the different levels of consciousness onto all the areas of your life.
And you will start noticing,
With bringing this awareness,
That there are many more situations where you feel victim.
If you are blaming the government for certain decisions,
It means that you give your power away.
For me the whole journey now is always go within.
Always go within and feel what it is that I have to do there.
How I can change my perspective.
What small step I can take.
And sometimes that might be voicing things where I do not agree.
Sometimes it might just be,
Don't go into the situation,
Just leave it at that.
And move on and focus your energy on different things.
Sometimes it might be starting a completely new initiative.
Most of the time,
To be honest,
It's about self-development.
And by bringing awareness to the things I encounter.
Where you feel that you don't have power.
Where I feel that I'm facing fear or feel powerless.
It's always this invitation to point my attention inward.
And see what is there.
Because I know I have the power to change things.
I don't have the direct ability to change the weather or to change a decision of the government.
But I have the power to change my response to it.
And I have the power to start creating a new world for myself.
And with that,
The ripple effect.
With my energy,
If my energy changes from victimhood to more healthy control,
Then other people will notice that.
And I think that is for me the way to go to bring change in this world.
To increase your awareness,
To see that you have a choice,
And to start making other choices,
Step by step.
