Welcome to Let's Regulate.
A series of practices to help us ground and center.
I'm Heather Weese.
With love,
Serve,
Inspire.
And today I'll be guiding you through circular breathing and a chest hold.
We're going to sit down comfortably.
You can have a soft gaze or close the eyes.
We're just going to try our full awareness and attention to our breathing.
If it's helpful for you,
You can bring a hand on the heart,
A hand on the belly,
Connecting with the sensations of the breath.
And finding a comfortable inhale through the nose.
And exhale through the nose or mouth.
This breath technique can also be done inhaling through the mouth and exhaling through the mouth.
So choose what feels right for you.
We're gonna begin to take our breath in a circular pattern.
So as you inhale,
Feel the breath come up through the spine,
Through the back body.
Circles at the crown of the head,
And as you exhale,
Comes down through the front body,
Circling at the pelvis.
Inhale up through the back.
Exhale down through the front.
Feel your breath nourishing every cell,
Every organ in your body.
Can add any visuals that you like to this circular breathing.
Maybe you visualize a gentle ocean wave flowing through and over you.
Maybe you visualize a bright light flowing and protecting you.
With each exhalation,
Letting go of some tension somewhere,
Soften the body.
Find a beautiful,
Steady rhythm.
We're going to add one more element into our circular breathing.
Adding in an intention or a prayer.
So inviting in any quality,
Any affirmation,
Any word that resonates with you today that you want to flow through with your breathing.
Or it could be a sacred word or prayer.
Notice what shows up for you,
Inviting that in internally as you breathe.
We'll take three more full rounds of breath.
Melting into this circular pattern of breathing.
When you feel ready,
We'll release that,
Opening the eyes.
We're going to rub our palms together.
Sealing this practice with the chest holds.
Once you feel a little warmth in your hands,
You're gonna stack them at the heart space and make little circular pattern with your hands pressing into the chest.
And just stating to yourself.
I am safe.
I am supported.
I am love.
I am safe.
I am supported.
I am love.
Pausing the circles.
Releasing the hands all together and taking a moment to feel.
Noticing any shifts.
Changes,
Sensations felt.
