Welcome to Trigger Tapping.
Getting to the root of a trigger so it can be processed and healed.
Building stress,
Resiliency,
And mental stability.
I'm Heather Wiest with Love,
Serve,
Inspire,
And today I'll be guiding you through your practice.
It would be helpful to have a journal or notepad nearby to write down any insights.
We will be using bilateral stimulation.
We'll be tapping to help us process through our triggers.
You can choose how you would like to tap alternately.
You can take your hands on the tops of the thighs and tap right,
Left,
Right,
Left.
You can take the sides of the thighs as well.
If you are seated you can tap your toes right left on the ground or the floor beneath you.
And if you'd like you can take butterfly tapping.
You'll take your hands,
Hook your thumbs,
Take the fingertips up toward the collarbone area of the chest and alternately tap the fingertips right and left.
Kind of feels and looks like butterfly wings.
So taking a moment here.
To take a few breaths to ground and center in meditation or prayer.
And now I invite you to think of a current trigger or pet peeve that causes you to react and your negative thoughts and emotions about it.
As you think of this current trigger,
We're going to begin bilateral stimulation at a faster pace.
So you'll begin tapping right,
Left,
Right,
Left at a faster pace.
It could be at any intensity that feels right for you.
Continue to think about the current trigger and any negative thoughts or emotions associated with it.
Keep tapping and notice what and where you are feeling sensations in your body.
Keep a nice pace with that right and left bilateral stimulation tapping.
Now let your mind float back to an earlier time in your life when you felt this way before.
And notice what comes to mind.
Imagine you're a passenger on a train and you are witnessing the scenery of your life.
And keep tapping at that faster pace,
Right left.
Honor anything that comes to mind.
There's no right,
There's no wrong.
I'm going to invite you to stop the tapping.
I'm taking some time to process.
And acknowledging any insights or any interesting recollections.
What are you noticing now?
Take a moment to write down any thoughts,
Feelings,
And sensations felt in the body.
Feel free to pause this audio if you need additional time.
Now I invite you to float forward to a time in the future when the current trigger or pet peeve occurs and you choose to respond more calmly and positively.
As you're thinking about this time in the future,
We're going to begin bilateral stimulation at a slower pace.
You'll alternate right,
Left at a slower rate than you did before.
Continue to think about this future scene and all of the details.
Visualize your support team,
Any important people,
Pets,
Spiritual figures,
Encouraging you.
What do they say to you?
Or what do they do for you?
Create a healing movie scene or comic strip about this future event.
See it clearly in your mind's eye.
Keep tapping at that slower pace.
Right,
Left.
Right,
Left.
And then we'll pause the tapping.
And take time to acknowledge and honor any insights.
What are you noticing now?
Journal,
Any thoughts,
Feelings,
Sensations felt.
Again,
Feel free to pause this audio if you need additional time.
You may choose to close by taking some deep breaths in meditation or prayer.
It has been an honor and pleasure guiding you through your trigger tapping.
Feel free to revisit this practice anytime you'd like to get to the root of a trigger.
