This love meditation is an invitation for anyone who is feeling sad; it is for any heart searching for a way to soothe their sadness and choose love. It is a way of welcoming love and holding hands with gratitude, a way of giving grace to ourselves and our sadness, and allowing love to lead our way back to center. Music by Carl Wergin

Welcome and thank you for accepting the invitation to soothe your sadness today by choosing love and remembering what love says about you.

I invite you to close your eyes and allow me to take your hands in mine.

Take a deep breath in together and breathe out together.

I know what it's like sometimes to feel overwhelmed by sadness.

I know what it's like sometimes to not know where to turn or who to turn to,

How to feel what we're feeling.

Today I want to share with you a love meditation to help soothe the sadness that you might be feeling today or on any day.

So with your hands in mine and your eyes still closed,

I'd like you to take in the words that I share with you and feel free to repeat them after me or just allow them to rest in your heart.

As we say thank you in our time of sadness.

Thank you for taking this hurt out of my chest and off of my shoulders.

Thank you for taking it so I don't have to hold it anymore.

So it doesn't have to press on me anymore.

So I don't have to try to fix it anymore.

Thank you for taking this hurt and in its place.

Thank you for pouring love.

Thank you for pouring love into me,

Into all the places that I've been hurting.

Thank you for pouring love into all the places where I feel empty.

Thank you for pouring grace into all the places where I feel guilty or ashamed or unforgivable or not worthy of being loved.

Thank you for pouring love into all the parts of me from the top of my head to the tips of my toes.

Thank you for breathing love into me.

Thank you for breathing life back into me.

Thank you.

Thank you for holding me up when it feels like I cannot stand.

Thank you for holding me together when it feels like I'm falling apart.

Thank you for holding my hand so that I don't have to walk alone.

Thank you for holding me just because I am me.

Thank you for reminding me that it's going to be okay.

Thank you for reminding me that I don't have to worry.

Thank you for reminding me that everything is working in my favor and that things are always working out for me.

Thank you for reminding me that this too shall pass and that the pain I feel will not stay with me forever,

But you will.

Thank you for reminding me that I will smile again,

That I will laugh again,

And that one day this will feel like it belonged to someone else.

Thank you for reminding me that it's okay for me to feel this right now because I'm stronger than I realize.

And because of this,

Now I will be better able to help someone later.

Thank you for reminding me that I can do that.

Thank you for reminding me that my pain has a purpose and that even when I don't know it,

My gifts are guiding me.

Thank you.

Even though it hurts sometimes,

Even though my sadness feels so heavy,

Thank you for giving me this day of less hurt than yesterday.

Now let's breathe in together and breathe out together until our hearts meet again.

May we have grace for ourselves.

Hold our sadness close to our heart.

Remember that we're not alone and that this too shall pass.

Thank you for giving me so much love.

Thank you.

I found this meditation very heart healing and was able to keep my mind focused on the words, which I sometimes struggle to do.

Really liked this. Made me cry. I've been unwell and very low and this obviously triggered something. I like to think a good cry is always a good thing. A release.

That was beautiful. I saw the imagery of the cracks in my being filled up with honey-like liquid gold. It was so soothing.
