Welcome to today's love view,
Where we explore matters of the heart while seeking an understanding that allows us to love ourselves more so we can love each other better.
It's my love view,
And I'd like to explore grace today.
Someone recently asked me how I define grace,
And in the moment I didn't have an answer or a way to answer gracefully.
But I've given it some thought,
And I think that for me grace means being able to offer someone else the experience of being experienced by me,
Being experienced by another human with no conditions,
No conditions on love,
No conditions on compassion,
No conditions on understanding,
No conditions,
No limitations,
No requirements for any of these things.
I might not understand what someone has done.
I might not understand a person's behaviors,
Their actions and choices,
Or their decisions,
Because I might have never been there in their shoes.
Or maybe I wouldn't choose those same choices if I were in their shoes.
But I don't have to understand a person's behaviors,
Choices,
Decisions,
Actions,
Or even their thoughts to be able to go underneath those things and reach a level of understanding.
Because here's the thing about grace.
Grace comes from underneath,
And grace goes underneath.
Grace comes from underneath all of the surface level emotions and behaviors that are manifestations of feelings and fears.
And it reaches the other person underneath their surface level actions or behaviors,
Underneath their fears.
Grace comes from underneath and it lifts us up.
It's a spirit lifter.
It's a heart lifter.
It's a soul lifter.
Grace is a love giver and a life giver.
Grace lifts you up and holds you up back into that place you feel you've fallen from.
But grace knows you never did.
It lifts you back up into who you truly are.
And we don't have to understand every single thing about each other in order to understand who we are at the core.
Because who we are is love.
We are all love.
We are all the same in that way.
We are all one.
Grace says,
I'm not here to judge you.
I understand you are not your actions.
You are not your patterns.
I understand you are a human being.
I know who you are.
Absent of those behaviors,
I know you.
And I'm here to remind you of who love says you are.
Not of who you say you are or who you say you're not.
You see,
Grace allows us the space to be fully loved,
Being nothing more than who we are.
Because grace knows that who we are is that love.
What are your thoughts about grace?
Or how you define grace?
I would love to hear from you.
And until our hearts meet again,
May love and grace go before you.
Amen.
Amen.
