This sensory meditation is about leaving the freeze state behind and gently slipping into a place of softness.
We thank the body and let it know that fear is normal,
But that it must unclench to experience life fully.
We will then tune into each body part and tighten and release.
Take a long slow deep inhale through the nose and an exhale through the mouth.
Dearest body,
I want to thank you for keeping me safe.
For alerting me when moments aren't right.
For intuitively knowing how to heal when sickness strikes.
For allowing me to experience the warmth of love and feeling the pain of heartache.
As strange as it may sound,
I thank you for feeling hurt the most.
For it's these subtle cues from the body that guide me in the right direction.
Leaving the chaos of the brain behind,
I can settle into alignment with the heart and mind.
If I choose to listen.
When the mind and body aren't in alignment,
The two cannot communicate and we react in mechanical and disjointed ways.
We are here today to bring us back to this place where we live and thrive.
Perhaps with fear and hesitation,
But that's okay.
We are still moving,
Ever so tactlessly,
Ahead.
Until one day,
The suffering fades and we find peace.
Now let's tune into each body part,
Consciously releasing anything you've been holding onto.
Relax the feet.
Relax the arches of the feet and the ankles.
Relax the shins and the calf muscles.
Relax the thighs.
Relax the knees.
Relax the hip flexors and the stomach.
Relax the torso and the chest.
Relax the arms and the shoulders.
The hands and the fingers.
Now relax the back,
The back muscles.
And relax the neck.
Relax the face,
The ears,
The cheeks,
And relax the lips and the nose.
And relax the scalp.
Finally,
Relax the third eye center in between the two eyes.
This is your ever-flowing place of intuition and insight.
Now,
I'd like you to bring tension into the body,
Hold it tightly for a few moments with the most pressure that you can muster,
And gently release it.
Once more,
Tense the body,
Hold it,
And gently release it.
How do you feel now?
This was a love note to the body meditation.
Namaste.
