Are you feeling off today?
Maybe you're struggling with getting through your to-do list.
Maybe you can't quite focus on what's in front of you.

Let's slow things down and check in with ourselves.

Grab a journal and a pen to write down what comes up for you.
Start by settling down.
You can be either seated or laying down.
It's okay if you find yourself wiggling around a lot.
There are some days like that.
Let's start by noticing the sounds around us.
What's the furthest sound you can hear?
What's the closest sound you can hear?
Now let's notice our breath.
What quality would you give it in this moment?
Does it land all the way down to the belly?
Or does the inhale stop at the top of the lungs?
Do you notice temperature,
Either on the inhale or the exhale?
Are there any sensations that are coming up for you?
Maybe you notice a tight jaw or numb toes.
Or are there butterflies in your stomach?
What happens when we take a stance of noticing?
This may be connected to those sensations,
Or maybe not.
But are there any emotions that you can label in the present moment?
It's okay if you have more than one emotion that can require your attention.
Finally,
Is there an action that your body is asking to do?
Like crying,
Jumping,
Or crawling into a ball.
Can you give yourself permission to do this now?
When we take all this together.
What is your body trying to tell you?
Maybe you already know,
And your answer is on your lips.
Or maybe you need some time to let all this awareness sink in.
Take some time to journal about it before you continue your day.
