Welcome powerful hearts,
Today's meditation and experience holds the intention of supporting you to reconnect back to your inner sense of feeling safe,
Specifically once we get taken away by anxiousness,
Anxious thoughts,
Anxious states of being.
Today's meditation is designed to help you reconnect to your inner space of security,
So as we get started,
Start to tune into that,
Start to get comfortable.
You can listen to this meditation in a few different ways today,
Normally either by sitting or lying down in your space of safety and comfort,
Or alternatively,
I would invite you to listen to this journey today,
Moving through,
Resting through a yin yoga pose or a full yin yoga practice.
Yin in my background has always been a way for me to naturally drop back into stillness,
A natural way to open up and ground into the fascia,
Into the ligaments,
The tissues,
So today's meditation will pair beautifully with this practice.
Have it on in the background and follow how your body wants to flow.
So let us drop deeper now by breathing in together,
Breathing in through our nose and out through your mouth.
Going again,
If you're in a yin shape already,
Tuning into the body and breathing in with me,
Breathing in and breathing out.
So noticing as you exhale,
Letting the weight of your body sink downward,
Feeling the ground beneath you,
Whether it's a mat,
A bed,
A floor,
Feel it holding you,
Feel it supporting you,
Feel it fully already starting to cultivate this inner sense of safety.
I invite you now,
Either in your yin pose or your meditative position,
To bring attention to your body.
Notice the texture of your muscles,
The density of your bones,
The soft webs of fascia and connective tissue that wrap and hold you together.
Sense this,
Sense into your belly,
Your place of power,
Sense into your chest,
Your heart portal,
Sense into your hips and your legs that do so much throughout your day to hold and support the foundation of your safety channel.
With each breath in,
Invite this path to soften.
With each breath in,
Invite these parts to release.
And as you continue to breathe,
Invite you to just a little bit more,
Be here now,
Be more present.
And as each breath gently waves itself through your body,
Your being,
Each breath acting as a gentle reminder of,
I am safe to be here now.
I am safe to be here now.
If you're holding a yin position,
Notice how the tension and the tightness in the body,
In the muscles,
In the ligaments,
Loosens and releases with each breathing reminder of this.
When anxiety hits,
Usually the mind races outward,
Scanning for danger,
Scanning for the threat.
But it is here in this journey,
In this meditation together,
I remind you,
Powerful heart,
That safety is not out there.
Safety lives inside of you.
It lives in your big magnetic presence.
It lives with your purposeful heart.
It lives in your breath.
And it lives in the simple truth that right here in this moment,
You are held.
So give yourself permission to feel this,
Whether in a pose or in meditative stillness.
Feel this fully.
Continue breathing at your own pace,
Bringing awareness to how each breath you get to bring extra attention to,
To flow its energy into fascia,
Into your connective tissues,
Into your whole body,
Like a warm,
Soothing light.
With each inhale,
Nourishing the parts of you that feel unsafe.
With each exhale,
Clearing any tension,
Any gripping,
Any fear that still holds tight.
And let yourself internally,
Quietly whisper,
It is safe to feel.
It is safe to be here.
It is safe to soften.
Noticing how your body responds to these loving words to self.
How your body responds to these affirmations of security.
Notice how some muscles may loosen,
Your jaw may soften,
Your breath may deepen.
And here in this moment,
Allow deeper surges of safety to be felt through sensation.
Not just your thought,
But felt through your sensational body,
Felt along your skin,
The hairs on the back of your neck,
Across your chest,
Down your belly.
Feel the movement of this safety remind you.
Feel it deeper in your skin,
Deeper in your tissues,
In the quiet rhythm of the beating,
Of the beating of your heart.
If your mind continues to distract you from your awareness,
If it wanders,
Gently come back to your breath,
Your body awareness,
Your yin position,
If you are in one,
And your inner safety state.
Let's take a moment now,
Following the beat of your heart,
Into your heart space,
Into your heart chakra.
And notice here for a moment,
How your heart spins.
How your heart feels to you in this state of safety reconnection.
It is here in the heart that we often hold a lot of anxious emotion,
Anxious sadness,
Anxious expressions of what if.
It's also here in the heart that we have the remedy,
That we have the soothing solution.
So here in this heart space now,
Let us breathe deeper into our heart portal,
Expanding it,
Breathing in,
And slowly breathing out.
Returning back to the body at large,
Returning back to how the position of the body feels,
Especially if we are continuing our yin yoga flow,
Coming back to this deeper recognition of our safety net,
Coming back to our yin yoga flow,
If we have continued with the postures and the asanas,
And noticing how secure,
How safe our body feels now in this moment.
Letting us rest here together for a few moments,
Slowly breathing in,
Safety,
Slowly breathing out,
Releasing tension,
Releasing any remaining fear,
Conflicts,
Resistance,
And continuing to drop deeper,
To drop deeper,
To drop deeper into all that you are.
As you focus on your body and its breathing beats,
Let us repeat our same affirmations one more time.
This time noticing,
As we repeat them internally,
How different we already feel.
So slowly,
Intentionally,
Repeating after me,
I am safe in my body.
I am safe in my body.
I am safe in my breath.
I am safe in this moment.
Letting your intention,
Your heart,
Your breath,
The energy that is you behind these words echo softly throughout your being.
As you continue to breathe in and out,
Breathing in and out,
Breathing in and out.
Let us take a moment here to be grateful,
To bring gratitude into this safety container,
To bring gratitude into any poses you may be doing through your yin flow.
In this moment,
I invite you to hold gratitude for the breath that moves through you,
That always brings you back.
Invite you to hold gratitude for your heart always knows where to go.
When safety fears far away,
Invite you to hold gratitude for your body,
Your ever present home,
And your space and place that moves with you,
Even when you are still here in a moment like this.
Gratitude for your inner sanctuary,
The space inside of you that never leaves you no matter where you are or what you face,
The space where you can breathe,
The space of safety that you can always return to.
So together,
Let us breathe in gratitude for all that we are.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Breathing in gratitude for all that we are and breathing out.
Feeling this gratitude,
This appreciation,
This celebration flowing through us,
Honoring this temple that is us.
As we come to the end of this journey,
I'm going to invite you to start bringing your awareness to what you want to take out of this meditation.
The sense of safety that will continue with you,
Sense of support,
Groundedness that belongs to you.
Intend to take this,
Intend to embody this.
If you wish to continue your yin yoga practice,
Continue your flow with this embodiment moving through you,
And or you can open your eyes,
Slowly coming back into the space you're in.
And I'll leave you today with my own gratitude,
My own appreciation,
My own love.
As always,
It's been a pleasure to walk you home to what is needed.
