This evening practice contains a perfect balance of contemplation and breathing to make sure you end your day with a calm and peaceful mind. Three simple steps will allow you to reframe your day as you relax and remind yourself that all is well.

Transcript

Good evening.

It is time to close your day in a peaceful and reflective mood.

As you relax,

Take a few deep,

Easy breaths.

And now gently begin to associate the words,

Thank you,

With each out-breath.

Take your time.

This is a quiet opportunity for you to reflect and learn from anything that you have experienced today.

Let us begin three easy steps that will ensure that you come to rest with a calm and peaceful mind.

Step one.

Take a moment to reflect on someone or something that crossed your path today that you feel grateful for.

Perhaps at the time you took it for granted.

But now pause.

Allow yourself to revisit and say thank you.

Step two.

At some point today were you able to be of service.

However small the act may have seemed to you,

That person could at this very moment be giving thanks.

Remind yourself that each day is full of opportunities to show kindness.

Step three.

In this moment of quiet personal contemplation,

Ask yourself this question.

Did I take care of myself today?

Gently replay in your mind something that you have encountered today and with a kind heart towards yourself and others.

Consider if there is anything that you will do differently next time.

How wonderful that no experience is ever wasted.

And now I invite you to rest,

Safe in the knowledge that by spending just a few minutes each evening with this practice,

You will quickly develop the perfect way to end your day.
