Welcome to 5 minutes of breathing.
You don't have that much time so you better start inhaling.
They say that the average person breathes 16 times a minute and maybe lives 65,
75,
85 years and that a turtle can breathe four times a minute and some of them live up to 200 years or more.
So as you start to relax yourself take a few deep breaths and slow your breath down.
Inhale gently.
And notice as you inhale your attention can come onto your breath.
You can almost surf your breath into your body like it was a wave.
In a sense the breath is a bridge from the outside to the inside and from the inside to the outside.
So come in with it and then go back out with it.
The breath is an expression of life.
When there is no breath there is no life.
And when there is breath there is life.
So you're not just breathing oxygen you're actually breathing life in and out of your body.
We all want to feel more alive,
Be more alive.
Start by bringing in more life by breathing it in.
Notice that your breath doesn't care about work or your responsibilities,
Your obligations,
The future.
Your breath only cares about going into your body bringing oxygen into you and coming out.
Allow it to gently oscillate into your body and out.
The greatest meditation teacher in the entire universe is your breath.
You don't need to go to any classes or any retreats if you could just be with your breath.
Let the tension of the day start to fall away.
As the breath moves into your body notice that the muscles in your body start to gently relax.
In Hawaii the ancient Hawaiians when they would meet each other would put their noses against each other and breathe in each other's breath.
And that was their form of halo because for them spirit is in the breath.
Life is in the breath.
They call it ha like in the word aloha.
Breathe that oxygen all the way into your body,
Into your brain,
Into your chest,
Into your stomach.
And continue to breathe for the rest of the day,
Don't stop and enjoy yourself.
I'll see you soon.
