This meditation is an invitation to arrive here in your body and in this moment.
So often we move through our lives living from the neck up,
In our thoughts,
In our plans,
In our thinking,
And the body becomes something that we carry around rather than somewhere we live.
So for the next few moments there is nowhere to go,
Nothing to get to,
Just an opportunity to arrive in your body.
Gently allowing your eyes to close,
Or softening your gaze,
And bringing your awareness to the feeling of your body being supported,
The weight of you resting into the surface beneath,
Letting your body soften into this moment.
And without needing to change anything,
Just notice your breath,
The natural rhythm of it,
The rise and the fall.
And now gently begin to bring awareness into the body,
Not thinking about the body,
But feeling it.
Starting with your feet,
Noticing any sensation there,
Warmth,
Coolness,
Tingling,
Or even nothing at all.
Letting that be okay.
And slowly allowing your awareness to move up into your legs,
Your thighs,
Not needing to relax them or change them in any way,
Just noticing.
Noticing your hips,
The space of your pelvis,
This area where so much is often held.
Simply feeling.
Feeling your belly,
Letting go of any need to hold it in,
Or brace.
Noticing your chest,
Rising and falling with your breath,
Your shoulders,
Allowing them to drop even just a fraction more,
Your arms,
Your hands,
Feeling the weight of them.
Now your neck,
Your jaw,
Softening the face.
And just for a moment,
Feeling your whole body,
Not as separate parts,
But as one,
One connected experience.
And noticing what it feels like to be here.
In your body.
Not somewhere else,
Not in the next moment,
But here.
If your mind begins to wander,
That's okay.
Gently guiding yourself back to sensation,
Back to feeling,
Back to the body.
There is nothing you need to do here,
Just arriving.
Noticing how it feels to arrive in your body.
Maybe you feel a little calmer,
A little more present,
A little more relaxed.
Carrying this feeling with you as you begin to slowly and gently come back to the space around you.
Knowing that you can return to your body at any time,
Simply by dropping out of the noise,
And noticing the sensations that are present in this moment.
And when you're ready,
Taking a slightly deeper breath.
Wiggling your fingers and toes,
And softly opening your eyes.
Thank you for joining me today.
