Manifest: #1 Spiritual Term - L,L&L W/ Glenn Ambrose
In November 2024, the Cambridge Dictionary named "manifest" as the word of the year, driven by its surge in popularity on social media and endorsements by celebrities. Why is manifesting so popular? Why are people attempting to manifest and what's the best way to go about it? I dive into this and more in this episode.

Welcome to Life,
Lessons & Laughter with your host,
Glenn Ambrose.
Hello everybody,
Welcome,
Welcome,
Welcome to the show.
So you know,
As I do,
I was sitting around thinking and I'm not sure exactly what spawned it,
But I was thinking and I was thinking,
I wonder,
I wonder what the number one spiritual term out there is,
You know,
And my first thought is,
Well,
It's,
It's probably manifestation.
I mean,
You hear manifest all the time,
There's got to be more courses and teachers on manifesting than anything else.
I mean,
It's,
You know,
It's huge.
So that was my first inclination.
So I decided,
Um,
Today I was like,
Hey,
Let me see if I'm right.
So,
So I searched on,
On,
Um,
AI and,
Um,
And I literally searched what's the most common spiritual term searched.
What it said is in November,
2024,
The Cambridge dictionary named manifest as the word of the year driven by its surge in popularity on social media and endorsements by celebrities.
This term has evolved to refer to the practice of visualizing and willing one's dreams into reality,
A concept embraced by artists like Dua Lipa and Simone Biles.
The rise in interest in manifesting reflects a broader trend where self-help intertwines with mystical beliefs,
Addressing unmet human needs for community and meaning in the increasingly uncertain world and,
Um,
And that there are some other terms,
Um,
That have noticeable increases,
Um,
Just so I'll share them with you.
Um,
Some of the other words that have had noticeable increases are meditation,
Mindfulness and chakra.
There's some consistent interest there.
So the reason that I wanted to do this podcast is because,
You know,
I like getting to the core of stuff.
I like going deeper.
So most often we,
As a people,
How we've been living for quite a while now,
And it's reflected in technology,
Science,
Things like this is we generally function out of one question and that's,
Can I,
Can we do something,
Can we,
Can we,
And,
And,
You know,
That sparks our curiosity,
Um,
And,
And our imagination,
Can I,
I wonder if I can,
You know,
So that drives a lot of,
Of society in a lot of ways,
Especially when we're looking at how we live,
You know,
My point is,
Is that we don't generally ask,
Should I,
We just ask,
Can I,
We don't ask if it's a good idea.
We don't a lot of times even understand what we're doing.
We're just trying to do it.
And you can see that in all areas of life,
Including spirituality,
Like meditation.
One of the things I heard from Michael Bernard Beckwith many years ago about meditation is he was explaining it in his movie,
I believe spiritual liberation.
I think that's where he said it,
But anyway,
He said it.
And he said,
Um,
Most people try to meditate without knowing what meditation is.
First,
You should know what it is.
And he described it as an in,
Uh,
Indistractible attention to what is.
That's what meditation is.
So once you know what it is,
Then you can try to do it.
Right.
Um,
And I see,
You know,
There's a lot of truth in that because a lot of people are,
They have problems meditating and you know,
That the first,
The first comment is always the same.
Well,
I,
I,
I can't meditate because I can't,
You know,
I tried,
I can't stop my mind.
It's like,
Yeah,
Nobody can stop their mind.
That's why you need to keep working on meditation like,
You know,
So a lot of things,
If,
If especially in the spiritual,
Um,
Genre,
I'll say,
Um,
You know,
People try things a few times and if it doesn't,
If it's not easy,
Then they just go,
I can't do that.
Um,
Which,
You know,
We,
We don't do that in any other area of life.
I mean,
We do when we get older,
Which is unfortunate,
But when,
You know,
Do you think we stopped trying to walk because it was difficult when we were little or talk or play a sport or an instrument or sing or create art?
No,
You know,
It's,
There's a learning process,
Um,
But I digress.
So I wanted to talk about manifesting because it's the number one spiritual term.
Why,
Why,
You know,
Why is it the number one spiritual term?
Well,
It's,
And this is what kind of came to my mind when I was contemplating this.
It's because everybody wants what they want.
That's what manifesting is.
It's getting what you want,
Thinking you want something and then bringing it into your life,
Right?
That's manifesting.
And it's the number one spiritual term.
Now,
Just to,
You know,
Be clear on the foundation of this,
I think that there's wonderful aspects of this because,
You know,
I,
I saw lots of maybe watered down aspects of,
Of,
Um,
Spirituality or people coming into spirituality through all kinds of different doorways,
But not really living it,
You know,
Um,
Really not making it part of their life.
Whereas when I woke up,
I blew open.
So it was automatically,
Instantly the main foundation of every aspect of my life in every way.
So when I saw people dabbling with it,
But not really going too deeply,
Not really understanding it,
It was at first,
It was a little concern and going like,
Oh my goodness,
Like they're,
They're missing the boat.
Like they,
This,
This could give them so much more,
They,
You know,
Um,
But when I stepped back and I looked at that,
I realized that it's doorways,
You know,
Where we're in a gigantic global spiritual shift as a species because we need it.
And we need to expose as many people to different ways of thinking along the spiritual lines as possible.
And people are going to come in those doorways in many different ways.
You know,
I think yoga is a gigantic example of that.
And I'm talking about specifically the,
Um,
I don't like using the word Americanized because it's not just America,
It's,
It's other countries as well,
But the,
The watered down exercise class version of yoga.
If you look into yoga,
It's a deep spiritual practice.
That means a billion times more than that,
You know,
But yoga,
The exercise class has gotten so popular that for many,
Many,
Many people,
Probably tens of millions,
Maybe even hundreds of millions of people,
It's the first time they experience peace.
Like at the end of yoga class,
You have Shavasana,
You know,
And you just become still in,
In an environment with other people being still.
And this is basically a form of meditation where you're just still and decompressed,
Especially after a workout where you're physically depleted,
Which,
You know,
Helps you relax even more.
So,
You know,
Now a lot of people run around going namaste and oh my chakra and think that they're spiritual,
But yet it's a doorway.
At least they're exposed to it.
When they're ready,
They will lean in deeper.
When the suffering gets enough,
They will lean in deeper and,
You know,
Use hopefully and use other aspects of spirituality and,
You know,
Lean into this more and make it a bigger part of their life,
Therefore their life enhancing.
But yeah,
It's the doorway,
You know,
And many people come in through becoming rich and or famous and then getting to the pinnacle of their,
Their career,
Reaching all their goals and finding out that they're not happy.
And this wasn't,
It's not what it's all about.
And then they turn to spirituality.
Many people come in,
Of course,
Through suffering is the most common,
Including addictions and hitting bottom,
That type of thing.
You know,
Can't,
I can't live like this anymore.
They come in that way,
You know,
So there's lots of different ways that it's coming in.
One of the biggest problems is we are masters of distraction.
We are extremely busy and we are extremely occupied,
Which diverts our attention from the suffering that we're experiencing.
Also,
We treat symptoms,
Not causes in our societies.
So,
You know,
So if you're unhappy,
Then you go to a doctor and they say,
Well,
Yeah,
You have a hormone imbalance.
So let me give you a pill so you can feel better.
Oh,
Okay,
Thank you.
I have a hormone imbalance,
But nobody stops and goes,
Well,
Why do you have a hormone imbalance?
It's because you don't like your life.
There's.
So that's the cause.
So if you create a life that you enjoy,
Then your body creates the hormones of that that come from experiencing happiness and joy,
And then you don't need a pill to make you not depressed.
You know,
So so it's,
You know,
That that are that some of the drawbacks,
Just keeping ourselves busy,
Moving 90 miles an hour.
It prevents the uncomfortability that's bubbling up from within,
From the reality that we're not living in alignment with nature and ourselves.
It prevents that from coming up.
Too much to where it really drags us down.
So we just distract ourselves.
Keep moving,
Keep moving.
You know,
And this is why people can't slow their minds down because they're never still.
It's.
You're constantly moving.
There's a purpose to that.
It keeps the uncomfortability at bay from,
You know,
Instead of bubbling up and overtaking you and you realizing how dysfunctional it is to live going 90 miles an hour all the time,
Thinking that you have to.
That the pace of life that most people are at is just dysfunctional and unsustainable.
You know,
So.
But there's many doorways is my point coming in.
So.
Back to manifesting specifically,
And you're going to be able to probably use this in other areas as well.
This concept.
Is why manifesting?
Well,
It's like we said to get what we want.
Okay,
Well.
Why do we want to get what we want?
Like,
Why do people want to manifest a better career or a better partner or a better home or a better car?
Or why do people want to manifest anything that they don't have?
Or another one of something that they do have.
Why do people want to manifest?
The reason people want to manifest is because they think it's going to make them happy.
It's the whole point.
It's still kind of the point of why people do anything to make themselves happy.
Right,
If I mean,
We don't do things to make ourselves miserable.
So what's the point?
Well,
We think that that new car or that new house is or the new partner is going to bring us happiness.
It's going to make us happy.
We're going to feel better inside if we have that.
That's why we try manifesting.
And this is to me why it's a doorway.
It's not.
It's not the end all be all so.
This is why I'm not real big on manifesting.
For the sake of manifesting,
Because to me,
It just it feels like we're just cutting ourselves so short.
Like if you want happiness,
Why not focus on happiness?
Why focus on a car to make you happy or a home to make you happy or another person to make you happy?
We're focusing like happiness comes from within.
It doesn't come from external sources.
And if you know a lot of people that talk about manifesting,
If you ask them,
Does does money buy happiness?
They go,
No,
Of course not.
Of course,
Money doesn't buy happiness.
Okay,
Well,
Then why are you trying to manifest money?
Well,
Because it make my life easier.
Right.
Why do you want your life to be easier?
Well,
Because then I could relax.
Mm hmm.
Right.
And then how are you going to feel once you your life is easier and you can relax?
I'll feel happy.
But I thought you said that money couldn't buy happiness.
Well,
It can't.
Then then why are you trying to manifest money or a material thing?
The material things make us happy.
No,
Happiness comes from within.
Okay,
Then why are you trying to man?
What?
Why is it the number one spiritual term?
On the planet.
This is what I'm trying to shed some light on here.
Okay,
There's another way to go about this.
And I've always been along these mindsets,
And I've come across different teachers over the years that have.
Shared my outlook,
Even a couple manifesting teachers.
It's pretty rare,
But.
But,
You know,
Totally.
Totally did something on manifesting.
And and I hopped on the course because I was like,
I bet you he's going to nail it.
And and I was interested in the words he was going to use.
And sure enough,
Right in the beginning,
He dove right in to,
You know,
What I believe to be true.
And he said.
Basically,
I don't remember his words.
This was years ago.
But basically,
He said,
If you want to manifest,
What you need to do is connect the source first.
Right.
So this is why,
Like,
If you've noticed,
If you've looked into any manifesting courses,
Or you've tried to do it yourself,
It's very sporadic.
Like every once in a while,
Somebody will manifest something.
Sometimes there's a little bit of consistency to it.
But as a general rule,
People aren't walking around just.
You know,
The way it's portrayed,
And it started with the secret many years ago.
And a lot of the teachings haven't gotten much better since then.
But some of them have.
But they they they teach that it's just this formula.
You know,
You put energy towards something and then you get it.
So why isn't if it's the number one?
Searched term.
Number one spiritual term searched.
Why isn't everybody rich by now?
I mean,
We've been doing this for 20 years.
Like it's and it's a very simple process from what they say.
So why?
Why isn't everyone manifesting consistently whatever they want?
Right,
Why?
It's because that's not really how it works.
Like,
The biggest piece is being in alignment with what creates what actually manifest.
We don't manifest anything.
We don't have the power to manifest things.
We don't create planets.
We don't create anything,
Really.
We are just points of consciousness.
Things create through us.
The power flows through us into this realm.
And that's how we create.
But it's not us actually doing the creative creating.
It's kind of like we are flashlights with no batteries in it.
You know,
Like we are the housing in which the light flows through.
We can turn the head of the flashlight and direct what we want our manifestations to be in a particular area and where we'd like to put our energy and things like that.
But we don't have the energy.
We're just conduits.
Source is energy.
The source of all.
It's like we're a ray of the sun on a blade of grass thinking that we're warming it up.
We're not warming it up.
The heat,
Everything doesn't come from us.
It comes from the sun.
We're just an extension of it.
So we are an extension of source.
It comes through us,
But we are not the source of our manifesting.
It's not our energy that manifests anything.
So being in alignment with your source that does create that is that's where the consistency comes from.
That's where the true power comes from.
And,
You know,
Totally touched on this also in his course.
But this is what I teach as well.
It's if you focus on connecting to source,
If that's your focus and you really connect a source.
That's going to be your foundation for everything.
It's going to be your foundation for how you live your life.
It's going to be your foundation of the peace and the happiness that you experience within you on a daily basis.
It's going to be your foundation of how you interact with life and deal with problems.
It's going to be a foundation for everything.
And it's also going to be a foundation for manifesting.
Now,
If you're not trying to manifest stuff that you want to make you happy outside of yourself.
Because you're focusing on source.
And that is really what is the source of your peace and your happiness.
And it comes from within.
So you're connected to source.
You're experiencing peace and you're experiencing happiness.
And then all of a sudden you start feeling creative and you say,
I would like to manifest something.
I would like to manifest something as an expression of this happiness,
As a way to share my happiness with the world,
Not as a way for me to get what I want.
One,
That aligns you with source so much better.
Two,
You realize that like if you made a list before you spent your time connecting to source and you made a list of all the things you wanted to manifest,
All the things you wanted to bring into your life,
Right?
And then you took some time just to connect to source,
Connect to source,
Feel that peace and that love inside of you.
And learn to live like that for a little bit.
Then all of a sudden you bring that list back and you go,
Oh,
I wanted a luxury car.
Why?
Well,
I thought that I deserved it and it was going to make me feel good.
And really now that I'm peaceful and happy and content,
I get just as much joy driving some dependable little off-brand car or I'll try to make my point with some sort of brand.
Kias are usually less expensive.
This is how I was when I was in the States.
I liked having a dependable car.
Because I liked turning the key and not worrying about whether it was going to start it breaking down,
All that stuff.
So I used to like driving a new car.
But I would drive a brand new Kia with not a lot of extras on it.
Because to me nowadays,
The cars are so nice that it's fine.
I don't need,
If I can buy a car for,
I'm not even sure what the brand new Kias go for nowadays,
But if I could buy a brand new car for 30 grand or I can buy a brand new car for 70 grand,
Unless there's something that I kind of specifically need,
I'm good with the 30 grand.
It's brand new.
It's dependable.
If anything goes wrong,
I got a warranty.
It's got power windows.
The AC works like to me,
They're so comfortable nowadays.
Like I don't need to spend two and a half times the amount of money to get the luxury because I'm just not going to get that much enjoyment out of it.
I'm not going to get two and a half times the enjoyment out of it.
So why spend the money?
I can use that money for other things.
And I don't look at it as a status symbol.
I don't think anybody that drives a luxury car is more successful than I am or better than I am in any way.
So why,
Why bother?
Right.
And my point is,
Is when you're happy and you're comfortable,
This is the way you think.
And when you're not happy in your life,
You will tell yourself that you're not thinking this.
You will rationalize your thinking.
Just to talk yourself into getting what you think you want.
Because it's on an unconscious level when we are not happy inside.
Well,
No matter what,
What is deepest is controlling our thoughts and our behaviors.
So if we're unhappy,
There's nothing really deeper than that.
We're unhappy and we're doing whatever it takes to find happiness.
And if having a nice car or a bigger house we think is going to do that,
We will rationalize why we need it and talk ourselves into it.
If we're grounded,
Peaceful and happy.
And I think this is an important point.
Hopefully it'll clarify my point.
If you are peaceful and contented and happy,
There are,
And I must stick with the car example in this,
Because I think it's a better way to make the point.
If you're going to derive this enormous sense of peace and contentment by having the luxury car,
By having the car that costs $70,
000 or $150,
000 or whatever the heck it is.
If for some reason,
Like those are on the planet for a reason.
So like,
Hey,
Maybe most likely there are some people that,
That car for lack of a better term,
It's kind of worth the money.
They're going to derive a tremendous amount of joy out of that car for some reason.
Why?
I don't know because it's not my thing.
Right.
That's not my,
That's not who I am,
Or at least not how I think at this particular moment,
Who knows what the future holds,
But,
But that doesn't,
I understand that.
I don't think the same way as everybody.
So there's bound to be some people on this planet that somehow that car is going to be really enjoyable for them.
Maybe they've dreamed about it since they were a kid.
They just,
Who knows.
Right.
But for somebody that car is going to be worth the money.
So that's cool,
Man.
Go get the car.
But my point is,
Is if you connect to source first,
Probably 90% of the things that you think that you need to manifest to become happy,
You're going to realize you don't need them to be happy.
You realize that they're not going to bring happiness.
You don't need them.
They're not important and you're not even going to bother trying to manifest them because you don't even want them anymore.
They were just there to make you feel better.
You thought you would feel better,
But you already feel happy now.
So why do you need all those things?
You don't.
Then what do you do?
Whatever means something to you.
One person still goes and gets the car.
One person still goes and gets the bigger house because it's,
It suits their family more or something,
You know,
Whatever it's,
It's not about a car or a house.
It's about once you connect to source,
You're going to find that you don't need all those things.
You don't have to manifest those things to be happy and they weren't the source of happiness to begin with.
And then what you can do now,
All of a sudden your man,
Now you're sitting here,
You're ready to manifest.
You have this creative urge to manifest.
You have all this,
Let's just say I'm,
You know,
I'm kind of going out in a hypothetical example.
You have all this money that you've,
That you've just come into and you manifested,
But you're not buying all these toys with it.
So now you're like,
You go deeper as to what is going to really fulfill your soul,
You know?
And now all of a sudden the things like giving back start coming in.
You start using your,
Your manifesting abilities to help other people because that actually is an expression of the happiness and the love that you have flowing inside of you.
Maybe you buy a big,
Um,
Piece of land and you start creating a intentional community on it.
Maybe you start some philanthropy projects to,
To help other people in,
In your community or other communities around and help lift people up to a higher quality of life.
You know,
All of a sudden these types of things start happening.
Do you see how those would be so much more fulfilling?
If we did those,
But a lot of people are manifesting for the wrong reasons.
They're manifesting about themselves,
About what they think is going to make them happy.
Happiness comes from within connect to your source,
Develop a relationship with your source.
And this doesn't have to take 10 years,
You know,
I mean,
Depending on where you are,
I mean,
Heck,
You know,
It happened to me through,
Through recovery and the steps and like three months.
And I was completely different.
Some people,
You know,
A lot of times it might take longer than that,
But you never know.
It's just about alignment.
It's not about time.
It's about you opening,
Opening up to your source,
Opening up your heart,
Surrendering.
You know,
It's,
It's,
It's not about the efforting.
It's not about clearing,
You know,
40 years of trauma,
You might have to clear some pieces of it,
But,
But it's not,
You know,
One of the reasons why I'm talking about this is because the way,
And I'm going to kind of lean into new age spirituality here,
Because I think it's the best example,
Although many religions do this is we're,
We're putting off our happiness by thinking we need to learn something else.
Like what was we,
We,
We've been conditioned through school and society that once we learn something intellectually,
We've got it and that's it.
So what people are doing is they're learning intellectually plus we're in an information age.
So there's so much information out there.
So people are learning things that they're just learning things and then they don't feel this peace,
Love,
Happiness inside.
So they go learn something else and then they get another certification and then they take another course.
And as they're taking these actions to better themselves,
They get a positive feedback.
It's like,
Oh,
I'm doing something to better myself.
And then they're like,
Oh,
You know,
Do I feel fulfilled and happy?
No.
Oh,
I must need something else.
So then they do something else.
And it's not about that.
Like it's deeper than intellectual understanding.
It's conceptual.
It's physically implementing this way of life into your daily life and living from it.
That's why you're not happy.
It's not that you're missing some magic informational piece.
You're not missing anything.
You're whole,
You're complete as you are.
You just got to go inside and find it.
You know,
I remember Michael Singer's first interview on Oprah and he was talking about it and he and Oprah said,
You know,
I did some research on you and I found that,
You know,
You've been all around the world and studied with some of the most amazing gurus and all this stuff all around the world,
These spiritual teachers.
And,
You know,
Wow,
Very impressive.
Amazing.
What do you tell the rest of us that maybe can't do that?
They can't go off and study with all these gurus.
And he said,
Yes,
He says,
Yes,
You're right.
I have done a lot of that stuff.
He said,
I am very happy and proud to come here today and to tell you that all of that stuff that I did,
You don't need to do any of it.
None of it.
All you have to do is go within everything that you are seeking is within.
I didn't learn anything out there that I didn't get from within.
No matter who I worked with,
No matter who I spoke to,
Whenever I got what I was looking for,
It was by going within.
So you don't have to do any of that stuff.
You know,
Listen to these people.
Manifesting is a party trick.
It's not where you're going to find peace,
Love and happiness.
If you want peace,
Love and happiness,
Focus on peace,
Love and happiness.
Get that.
And then see what you want to manifest and you're going to be much better at manifesting much better at it because you're going to be connected to source and that's the actual source of energy that actually manifests.
Plus,
Your intention is not only going to be good for you,
But it's going to be good for others.
Even if it's that car,
I don't know how maybe.
Maybe that maybe you need a luxury car to take your aging grandparents to the mall once a week so they can get out of the house.
I don't know.
But my point is,
Is when you're manifesting through a place of contentment and love,
It's bound to help other people more than just you.
Because you're not focused on yourself,
You know,
You get it too.
I mean,
We've all given,
Right?
Doesn't it feel good to give?
Of course,
It feels good to give.
We've all experienced the joy of giving.
And a lot of times when you give like really give from your heart in a way that affects somebody else.
Have you noticed that it like you,
It almost feels like a rip off.
It almost feels like you're getting more than they are.
You know,
It was like it was a good example when,
You know,
With the help of some of my family and friends.
You know,
We built a bathroom for the school over here.
That was wonderful.
We have a Christmas party for the kids over here every year.
That's beautiful.
But really,
You know,
An isolated incident where you could really feel it was when we gave my little neighbor,
This little girl,
A bicycle that she wanted.
You know,
She was riding around the property for like,
Oh,
My God,
A year just on this beat to crap bicycle with flat tires and the chain constantly falling off and all this stuff.
And she wanted a bicycle so bad and she didn't think that there was any possible way she was going to get a bicycle,
You know.
And then to give her a brand new bicycle.
Are you kidding me?
She broke out into tears and the gratitude and the joy.
It's just you know that she's going to remember that for for probably her lifetime and to be able to be a part of that.
Like,
I feel I got more out of it than she did.
You know,
It's because it's just it's moving to help other people.
There's nothing better.
So I think if we connect to ourselves,
This is this is what we start doing with our lives just naturally.
And it's so much more meaningful and beautiful and enjoyable.
You know,
So I mean,
If you're you're thinking about manifesting,
Quite honestly,
I my recommendation is to stop.
Stop,
Because you're not going to do it very well,
Most likely,
Because you're you're going about it the wrong way.
You're probably manifesting things because you think that they're going to make you happy.
And then even if you do,
Even if you successfully manifest these things,
It's not going to bring happiness because happiness doesn't come from external things.
And then at some point,
And this is true with all the doorways we come in,
They're simply doorways into the game.
They're doorways into the stadium,
You know,
And and it's of course,
The shiny things on the door to attract your attention to get you to come in,
You know,
Through yoga exercise or or through manifesting or through becoming successful or through suffering,
Whatever you're in.
And so many other doorways that bring people into what's transpiring in the world,
All the chaos,
Whatever brings you in the door,
Cool,
Whatever expands your mind to start looking into this area of of spirituality,
Of peace,
Of love.
Cool.
But at some point,
You got to ask yourself,
Why,
Like,
Why did you come in whatever door you came in?
What do you really,
Really want?
And we all want the same things.
We all want peace.
We all want love.
We all want happiness.
We all want contentment.
We all want to be good people.
We all want good things for the people that we care about.
And that is all derivative of where you are inside.
If you can't give away what you don't have.
If you want to be a good parent,
Work on yourself and you'll be a good parent through that.
You don't become a good parent by trying to be a good parent.
You become a good parent by by really finding peace,
Love,
Contentment within and then that driving your behaviors.
Like I said,
Whatever is deepest is going to drive your behavior.
This is why we can't parent from guilt.
Like,
If you're trying to parent from guilt or you're trying to parent from trying from some surfacy,
What is being a good parent look like?
It's not going to work.
You have to you have to have what you're trying to give and it's not perfect.
I mean,
We don't have to be perfect at it.
But if you want to be a better person,
Brother,
Sister,
Mother,
Father,
Sibling,
Friend,
Worker,
Employee,
Employer,
If you want to be anything better,
All work is inside work.
Do the work on you and it will express outwardly.
We're so used to trying to straighten out our external situation so that we'll be happy inside and that's backwards.
We have to get happy inside and then our external circumstances and situations will reflect that back to us or they will be an expression of our happiness that's inside.
There's no happy destination at the end of an unhappy road.
We can't be unhappy within and do these things to try to become happy in the future out there.
Change things so we'll be happy inside.
No,
Happy inside and then things change.
So let go of this manifesting or whatever other door or before you let go,
Just ask yourself,
What do you really want?
Do you want to experience love and peace and contentment and happiness in your heart and interact with people through that energy and walk through your life in that energy and be the best version of you that you want to be or that you can be?
Yeah,
That's what people want.
Okay,
Then what's the best way to get that?
By manifesting something external that you think is going to give you that?
It's not.
It's simply not,
You know,
And I mean,
I understand,
You know,
I lived broke most of my life,
So I understand the conveniences with money and I understand that it lowers stress levels,
Right?
But like they've done studies on this.
Like when you're when you have nothing and you know,
I forgot the percentages of happiness increase or whatever,
But you'll get my point.
If you have nothing and you're suffering and struggling just to make ends meet or live or eat or stay warm or whatever,
And then all of a sudden you get the things that make your life comfortable,
Your happiness level increases somewhat dramatically,
Somewhat dramatically.
There's a fairly decent jump from struggling on a daily basis to survive and having just normal,
Basic comforts,
Normal,
Basic comforts,
Not a brand new car,
Not a brand new house that has four bedrooms,
Not all the luxury items everybody thinks they deserve nowadays.
Just the bare,
Basically the minimum where you can eat every day,
You're warm,
Stuff like that.
So there is a leap in happiness levels when you make that from struggling to maintaining,
We'll call it,
Right?
Anything other than that is dramatically minimal.
Like when you go,
And they measured it like financially,
Like if you go from like,
Let's just say $100,
000 a year to $150,
000 a year or $100,
000 a year to $200,
000 a year,
Your happiness levels go up.
I think it's like one or 2%,
Maybe three the most.
That's it.
It's very minimal,
Has very,
Very minimal impact on your happiness levels.
Once you get over that maintaining stage.
Most people in the developed,
You know,
I live in Dominican Republic,
Man,
Like most people in the United States have 10 times more than they need.
And I'm talking about the poor people.
You know,
I mean,
Of course there,
There's homeless and there's real poor that don't know,
You know,
That that go days without eating and things like that.
Of course,
We have that in the United States and other developed countries.
It's just a lot more prevalent over here.
You know,
So we have to keep that in mind.
Like,
What are you really saying you need to maintain?
It's relax.
If you're eating and you're warm,
Then your happiness is not going to jump up as dramatically as you think.
Because I mean,
Really,
Let's be honest.
I mean,
If you talk to people and I mean,
Hell,
I would have said this years ago.
If you would have talked to me years ago,
Where,
When,
You know,
I'm scraping to get by,
I don't have my connection to source.
And somebody says,
Glenn,
Would,
Would your life be all better?
If you,
If I gave you a million dollars,
I'd be like,
Oh my God.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Would you be happier?
Totally.
Yeah.
I didn't know what I was talking about.
Would it have?
Well,
Back then when I was drinking and drugging,
It probably would have killed me.
You know,
The,
The last thing I needed was a pocket full of cash.
When I got those things usually went pretty erratic.
Um,
But my point is,
Is that we,
You know,
We think it's going to,
It's the end all be all,
And it's not the end all be all is doing the work inside.
So let go of,
You know,
If,
If,
If you've come into spirituality or self-help or whatever you want to call it in a particular doorway,
And,
Or you've been on this path for a while and you keep,
You know,
Doing more things,
But you're just not capable of finding that peace and that happiness.
Like ask yourself,
Why,
What do you want?
What do you really,
Really want in your heartfelt desire?
What do you want?
And it's peace,
Love,
And happiness.
It's what we all want.
Don't,
Don't take the next leap and go,
Yeah,
But the car will give me the happiness or the house will give me the happiness.
Maybe it will.
Maybe it won't.
Like I said,
There are some people where a particular house or a particular car actually could be a fulfillment of a heartfelt desire.
It could be.
My point is,
Is that you're never going to know for sure.
Unless you connect to source first,
If your focus is connecting to source first and,
And just living,
Just washing the dishes,
Taking a shower,
Brushing your teeth in a state of peace,
Interacting with people in a,
Through love.
If you,
Unless you are living like that and you get yourself to a peaceful state,
You're never going to know what you're manifesting because it's a heartfelt desire or that your unconscious is rationalized for you.
You're never going to know.
And you're spending the energy anyway.
You're spending all this energy manifesting,
You know,
Creating your dream board and writing down all these things and doing these manifestation meditations every day.
Why don't,
Instead of doing all that,
Why don't you take that same energy and try connecting to your source?
Make that your goal,
Make the peace and the love within side of you and walking through your day to day activities.
Make that your goal.
I guarantee you it's going to be more fulfilling.
And then once you're doing that,
Maybe you'll want to manifest.
Maybe you won't.
If you do,
You're going to be much better at it.
It's going to be much more fulfilling for you.
And it's actually going to be something that is a heartfelt desire.
And like I said,
Therefore more fulfilling,
But manifestation is,
Is not spirituality.
It's not the end all be all.
Peace,
Love,
Happiness.
That's the end all be all.
And then from there,
We can express that through our manifestations.
So hopefully that was helpful.
All right,
I'm going to wrap it up.
Thank you guys for listening and let me know if I can be of service.
Peace.
