Dear Spring,
Welcome.
Welcome back to this expansive stretch of the earth.
Welcome back to my awakening body.
Welcome into the sleepy hollows of my mind,
A mind that's being turned inwards,
In stillness and in reflection.
I welcome your energy of expansion,
Dear Spring.
Welcome back to the earth that is all around and within me.
As the days grow brighter and warmer,
As the soil unravels from winter's embrace,
May my shoulders broaden.
May my breath grow spacious.
May my heart open to the possibility of renewal and rebirth that you bring.
As I step into you,
Dear Spring,
May I leave behind old stories and ways of being that do not serve me.
May I release my attachment to things I've outgrown,
Breaking through interior barriers,
Shells that once protected me,
So that I may sprout into the next phase of who I'm meant to be.
May I give myself permission to grow now,
To stretch my wings the way your branches grow leaves,
Collecting shimmering droplets of light,
Moving weightless,
Free,
And willing.
I am ready to leap forward with you,
Spring,
Ready to honor the dormant potential within me.
Though the growth you offer is sometimes uncomfortable,
Sometimes seemingly beyond my reach,
May I remember that this feeling is natural.
May I remember that buds have to push against some resistance before they come to bloom.
I welcome your warmth.
I welcome the sweet,
Honeyed light you bring.
I welcome the fragrance of your out-breaths,
Inhaling dew and damp earth into the base of my belly,
Into my stirring soul,
Into my awakening muscles and bones.
I am ready and willing to embrace your new beginning,
Spring.
Thank you for circling back here again,
Within and all around me.
My roots are entwined with yours,
And with each breath,
I grow outwards alongside you,
Into beauty,
Blossom,
And deep,
Deep gratitude.
Thank you,
Dear Spring.
Welcome back home to this sacred stretch of the earth,
All around and within me.
