Welcome to five minutes of gratitude,
Building a daily practice of appreciation,
Grounding,
And inner peace.
Find a comfortable position,
Whether seated or lying down,
And close your eyes,
Giving yourself space to take a full,
Deep breath in and exhaling slowly.
Allow your body to begin to relax as you take another full,
Deep breath and let it go.
Bring your attention now to the ground or space beneath you.
Imagine the earth supporting you with a deep,
Unwavering strength.
Feel the connection between you and the earth.
Imagine in your mind's eye roots growing down from your heart space,
Moving through your belly and out of your body,
Seeking as the roots grow deeper,
Finding soil and planting you firmly with all the beautiful strength and groundedness that mother earth has to offer.
As you are rooted,
Take another full,
Deep breath,
Filling your chest,
Expanding on the groundedness in which you now possess.
Allow yourself to feel the strength and magnitude of the support within and around you.
As that sinks in and fills your chest,
Your mind,
And your full body,
Bring your mind to gratitude,
Gratitude that exists today.
Allow your mind to move through different echoes of your experience,
Finding three things that you feel connected to,
Grounded in,
And are especially meaningful to you and for you.
They can be simple,
Like a warm cup of tea,
The birds sounding and singing outside,
Or even the love that you share with someone else.
Whatever your three are,
Allow them to grow within your mindset,
Feeling the warmth of each thing,
Connecting to it,
Grounding yourself in it,
Just as you did your roots.
Take in another full,
Deep breath,
Feeling the love and support of the gratitude.
Allow that warmth to cover your face,
Allowing a smile to move through all of the muscles of your face,
Giving your mind,
Body,
And spirit a signal that this grounded gratitude brings happiness and fulfillment into your life.
And as that smile spreads,
Allow this affirmation to be the guide for the rest of your day.
I am grounded,
Rooted in my support to myself and the earth,
And I am grateful for the love and stability that I have within my life.
I am grounded in my gratitude.
Take another full,
Deep breath,
Slowly exhaling,
And when you're ready,
Bring your awareness back to your space,
Opening your eyes and carrying with you this deep sense of grounded peace and gratitude.
Until we meet again,
May you be rooted in everything that's good.
