Grief is a natural reaction of the heart to loss.
By allowing ourselves to be touched by the pain of grief,
We deeply touch the vulnerability in our hearts.
The deeper the love was,
The greater the grief.
In this meditation,
We welcome them both.
To help heal the suffering,
We lovingly open our hearts,
Feeling compassion for ourselves and for all beings.
Feel your breath in the chest area.
Our grief is part of everyone's grief.
Remember the loss you are grieving.
Feel the pain inside you.
Let the story,
The images,
And the feelings rise naturally.
Take your time.
Let the feeling rise little by little.
Remember,
The deeper the love,
The greater the grief.
Welcome them both and hold them gently.
Feel compassion for yourself and for others.
Leave all the feelings that are there—pain and tears,
Anger and love,
Fear and grief.
Allow them to appear when they want.
Just hold them gently.
Give the images that emerge plenty of space.
And allow yourself to welcome the whole story.
Hold everything tenderly and lovingly.
Open your heart and feel compassion for yourself,
For others,
And for the whole world.
Grief is part of being human.
Hold it gently and honor it.
Notice that everything that is welcomed with love in the heart finds its place in understanding.
The grief we carry within us is full of tears.
It follows the natural intelligence of our body and our heart.
Trust that it will unfold in the way that is right.
Let the timeless wisdom within you carry you through the grief and awaken your tender,
Open heart.
Grief never simply dissolves.
Grief comes in waves and when it wants to.
Take your time and open your heart to it again and again.
Relax your body again and again.
Grief will come and go until we have integrated it.
Your awareness and love shine with natural purity.
Think of consciousness as a tiny sphere of white light in your heart.
Feel a small pearl shining in the center of your chest.
The brilliant white light shines from an inexhaustible source in all directions.
It fills your whole body,
Your mind,
And permeates your whole being.
Affirm the feeling with your next out-breath.
I am filled with happiness and the causes of happiness.
Imagine with each breath that this light fills your whole being.
All obscurations,
Sorrows,
Obstacles,
All afflictions dissolve into light.
On this level you're perfect just the way you are.
There's no negativity in you.
There's no criticism of you.
Feel the quality of well-being arise.
Now there is nothing in the way to fulfill your heart's desire.
Feel into it.
That which you seek most deeply can now be fulfilled and become real.
Your whole being is radiating with the light of loving-kindness.
Allow the light that fills you to now shine outwards in all directions.
Invite someone into the space of your mind who's very dear to you,
A loved one,
Friend,
Or a relative.
You are the light that fills your whole being.
Invite someone into the space of your mind who's very dear to you,

Or a relative.
He or she is now right in front of you.
Concentrate on the person and think their name.
You know their problems and what they dearly want.
With each breath,
Allow the light to flow out of your heart and embrace the person before you.
Fill them with light and love.
With every breath you wish them may you be healthy and happy.
May your wishes now be fulfilled.
May you always be filled with happiness.
May you now have all that you need.
May you now have all that you need.
Imagine with every breath that this person is filled with joy,
Happiness,
And health.
Their every wish is now fulfilled.
Notice how they're smiling and look healthy.
Rejoice with them and let them sit by your side.
Now open your awareness in all directions.
Notice that many other people have similar problems.
Send light and love from your heart to all loving beings and affirm,
May all people be happy.
May all beings feel safe and secure.
May all beings be healthy and live with ease.
Let go of all appearances and desires.
Rest in the stillness and the bright natural clarity of your awareness.
Feel how supporting others has changed your sense of strength and self-confidence.
Feel the compassion inside you.
Understand and accept yourself.
Notice that the more compassion you share with others unconditionally,
The more compassionate and open your heart becomes.
You're ready to grow further.
