Hi,
My name is Jeff Baldevony,
And I've been teaching and practicing mindfulness for almost 25 years.
And mindfulness is not enough to heal us.
It's not.
Therapy and mindfulness are wonderful in conjunction with each other.
They help us grow in awareness.
They help us understand our inner patterns,
Our relational patterns,
And all that stuff.
But if we really want to heal our wounds,
If we really want to live much more deeply in the present moment,
Who want to reclaim a tremendous degree of power.
We have to practice as well loving kindness,
Self-love.
We have to meet our challenging emotions with compassion,
With ease.
This is the second wing of the bird of awakening that the Buddha talked about.
He said one wing is mindfulness,
Which breeds wisdom.
The other wing is loving kindness,
Which breeds love.
We need both wisdom,
Which mindfulness and therapy give us,
And we need love,
Which only we can truly give to ourselves if we want to really awaken and live in a state of much greater peace and presence.
