Good morning.

This is Nancy from Moss and Moonlight.

This is a short meditation you can do first thing in the morning right where you are,

Whether that is lying in bed or sitting comfortably.

In this moment,

There's nothing you need to fix,

Achieve,

Or figure out.

This is simply a moment to greet your day with ease,

Gratitude,

And a quiet readiness.

So let's first take a moment to really settle in and feel your body as it is,

Supported by the bed or the chair,

Gently breathing in and out.

Let your eyes close and soften.

Move your jaw around a little and then relax it.

Allow the shoulders to melt down either towards the bed or away from your ears.

And let's turn our attention to the natural rhythm of your breathing,

The gentle rise and gentle fall of your breath like waves touching the shore as the sun rises on this new day.

As you inhale,

Remember the simple gift of just being here.

Another fresh morning.

Another new beginning.

As you exhale,

Let go of yesterday.

Anything that feels heavy,

Unfinished,

Or loud.

You don't need to carry that forward with you.

Remember that right here,

Right now,

You are beginning again.

Now I will lead you through a body scan and if you find any tension,

Just notice it and meet it with kindness.

To start,

Let's breathe into our headspace and then breathe into the shoulders,

Breathe into the heart,

And breathe into the belly area,

Soft,

Open,

And at ease.

Breathe into the hips,

Into the legs,

And down to the feet that will carry you forward into this new day.

You might silently offer yourself these words,

I am here.

I am enough.

I am allowed to begin slowly.

As you silently repeat these words,

I invite you to imagine a soft morning light,

Maybe it's a sunrise,

And it's not harsh or demanding,

It's just a quiet glow peeking over the horizon.

Picture this light filling your body,

Starting at the top of your head and moving down through your feet,

Fully encompassing you from the inside out.

And this light brings you warmth and a gentle energy.

Now bring to mind a word or quality that you'd like to carry with you today,

Something simple and kind,

Maybe ease or gratitude,

Confidence,

Or presence.

Let this word rest in your heart like a small seed that you will carry with you today.

And you don't have to force it to grow,

It will unfold naturally,

Moment by moment.

Now let's take a slow,

Nourishing breath in,

Receiving the day,

And as you exhale feel yourself more grounded,

More awake,

And gently energized.

As you prepare to move on with your morning,

Know that this calm is not fragile.

You can return to it anytime,

With a single breath,

A soft word,

And a moment of remembering.

Thank you so much for starting your day with me.

May you move gently through the rest of your day.

See you next time on Moss and Moonlight.
