Now just come to rest.
Close your eyes and let your breath find its natural rhythm.
I want to ask you something today that might feel unusual and I want you to let yourself answer it,
Not with the sensible part of your mind,
Not with the part that manages and plans and makes things reasonable.
I invite you to answer it with the part that still knows how to dream.
And that question is,
What do you actually want?
Not what you should want,
Not what would make everyone else comfortable or happy.
What do you,
The real you,
Underneath it all,
Actually,
Truly,
Deeply want?
Hold that feeling,
Whatever came up,
Just hold it gently,
Because we're going to follow it.
Imagine yourself standing in a beautiful room,
Light-filled,
Warm,
With large windows open to the sky.
The curtains move softly in a gentle breeze.
Everything in this room feels like you,
Like the most authentic,
Unedited version of you.
On the far side of the room,
There is a window unlike the others.
It is the largest window in the room,
Floor to ceiling flooded with light.
And through it,
You can see your life.
Not as it is now,
But as it could be,
As it is meant to be.
And you slowly walk towards it.
There,
Standing just on the other side of the window,
Is a person who stops your breath.
They are you,
Three years from now.
And the difference is extraordinary.
They stand in the full light of their own life,
Not performing,
Not managing,
Not diminished.
They are complete and authentic and true.
And the peace and joy that radiates from them is something you have always dreamt of and not quite believed you could have.
They notice you through the window,
And they smile.
A smile with love and recognition,
And the particular tenderness of someone looking back at a version of themselves they remember well.
They open the window from their side,
And reach through to take your hand.
The hand is warm,
Real,
Strong.
This is not a fantasy.
This reality is already out there.
This is the most honest version of your future,
Available to you now,
If you choose it.
Come and see,
They say.
Let me show you what life could look like.
And as those words are spoken,
Images start to appear on their side of the window.
Not dramatic,
Not impossible,
But real and beautiful images that are your destiny.
You see how they begin their mornings with ease rather than dread,
In a peaceful environment,
A loving environment.
You see them working,
Doing a job they absolutely love,
That uses everything about their authenticity.
You watch in amazement.
You can't believe that this is even possible.
Your future self is so filled with energy,
And motivation,
And love.
And you see that future self of yours in a relationship,
The kind of love that's finally allowed in,
The kind that doesn't ask you to be smaller,
Quieter,
In any way different.
And you see images now of your future self,
How you hold yourself,
How you move through life,
With ease,
The ease of somebody who no longer needs permission from anyone to be themselves.
I invite you to let that vision settle into your body on every level,
Not as a fantasy,
As a memory of the future.
Your future self reaches through the window one more time and places something in your hand.
You look down.
It is a key.
And they say,
The door was never locked from the outside.
It was always you,
And now you have the key.
You've always actually had it.
You just forgot it was yours.
Stop waiting for permission.
I am the proof that it was always,
Always worth it.
Whenever you are ready,
Unlock that door for good.
As you hear those words,
You feel the weight of the key in your hand as you hold it,
And you breathe in courageously.
I give myself permission to want this.
I give myself permission to have this.
My vision is not too much.
It is my truth.
The window,
The light,
Your future self on the other side.
Just take a moment to absorb that image.
And remember it as evidence of what is already simply waiting for you to live it.
Evidence that this life is already out there,
Just waiting for you to arrive.
And live it.
Take a slow breath in.
And a long grateful breath out.
Feel yourself coming back into your body.
Your room.
Your beautiful life.
That is about to change for the better.
Forever.
And carry the key.
Keep it close.
