Welcome to the Mini Somatic Series exploring the body's innate capacity to find safety within the present moment. Once the nervous system has begun to orient and recognise where you are, it will automatically ask another important question: Am I safe right now? The challenge is that when the nervous system perceives even a small amount of threat, it automatically moves into protection. This practice is an invitation to notice what is supporting you in this moment, so we can return to a felt sense of safety. Safety is not something we force, or even tell ourselves to feel. It is something the body gradually discovers through experience. As you practise, allow yourself to become curious about the signals of safety already available to you. The more clearly the nervous system can receive these cues, the more permission it has to soften, settle and restore. This is an invitation for your body to remember what safety feels like.
