On this episode i want to go over the origin and the myths of what is now called the lions gate 88 portal So let's type it.
The earliest reference that I know of,
Of the concept,
And notice that I say concept,
Of Lionsgate comes from an article published in 1999.
By Ray Mardix In this article,
The author Ray talks about the lunar eclipse that happened on August 8th,
1998.
And in this context,
He spoke about the entrance of the sun in the Leo constellation shortly after the lunar eclipse,
And the solar eclipse that closed that eclipse season then happened when the sun was already in the Leo constellation.
At the heart of the lion as he said on august 21st 22nd of 1998 so from what i know this is the first reference to the existence of a concept around a lion's gate that is the entrance of the sun into the constellation leo which is what it seems to have grown into the term Lion's Gate.
And this entrance of the sun into the Lion was in reference to a specific eclipse season that began with a lunar eclipse on August 8th in 1998.
And this is where the reduction of the date to 8-8 comes from.
In order to invoke God.
The idea of a numerological portal.
Ray,
The author,
Did not call neither a portal.
Neither to the entrance of the sun into the Leo constellation or into the Lion.
Nor to the August 8th,
So the 8-8.
These are terms that came later on.
Now,
To further understand better what it means the entrance into the Lion's constellation.
And if you've read the article or will read the article and notice what you can call odd things for you for what you are used to in mainstream astrology such as the reference to 13 signs that he does This is where we have to enter into another territory which I will not go into any depth at all because here would be a whole episode to talk about it.
But you do need to know a couple of things about tropical or western astrology to understand parts of Ray's article and to understand what truly means the entrance of the constellation and the fact that factually so scientifically astronomically the sun is not yet in leo by the 8th of august In a nutshell,
Tropical or Western Astrology is the widespread astrology that we have in the West that tells you that every 21st or 20th or 22nd of each month,
A sun sign changes.
And this is a quick transition,
Sort of an overnight transition,
And that there are only 12th sense signs.
When you look at the sky,
You will see that this is incorrect.
When you follow the ecliptic you see that there are a bunch of more constellations or signs as they are traditionally called in astrology than just 12 and that the constellations have different sizes which means that the sun doesn't take the same time to go over each one of them Meaning then that you don't have a new sign every 21st or whatever is day of each month.
And you will also see that there are voids between some of these constellations.
And the sun takes a few days sometimes from one constellation before it enters into the next one.
And currently there are some astrologers that to differentiate themselves from tropical astrology and from what is called sidereal astrology which is closer to the true sky compared to the tropical but still it's not really aligned yet these astrologers call true sky or astronomical or 13th sign astrology to the astrology that they use.
From what I know,
There is really no defined name for them yet.
You can easily see what's happening in the sky with probably any sky app that you could put on your phone.
If you go,
Check out the sky when you were born.
You might not recognize your sign.
From the Tropical Astrology.
For some people,
It's still the same.
But for many others,
It isn't.
And the same goes for your ascendant,
Where the planets are,
Where the moon is,
On the day that you are born.
Because in practical terms,
The misalignment of the tropical astrology system with the sky means that you probably think you are from a sun sign that you are not.
And just to give you an example,
If you think you're a Capricorn,
You are probably a Sagittarius.
If you think you're a Sagittarius you could be an Ophiuchus if you think you're a Scorpio you are all wrong because Scorpios are either Virgo or Libra And if you think you are a Libra,
You are a Virgo,
Because Virgo is the longest constellation on the ecliptic.
The sun takes like 40 something days to cross the whole constellation.
So don't be surprised if your chart is completely different from the astrological chart that you have become used to look at.
Right,
So now we've established the origins of the concept and even the term of the Lion's Gate 88 from a Ray Marduk's article that was about specific eclipses,
Not referring to an annual recurring phenomenon,
And we have also established that he did not coin neither the astrology event on August 8th as a portal,
Neither the date reduced to 8-8 as a numerological portal.
And to better understand him,
His article,
And also in part some of the myths of this Lionsgate thing,
We have also then established and seen what Tropical Astrology isn't,
That is,
It does not follow the true sky where the planets and stars really are at a given time and location in our day and age.
So now let's look at how this Lionsgate 88 grew from here to what we know today that is an annual occurring event that is characterized as both an astrological event claimed to be openings of for some type of spiritual energies as well as a numerological portal of the 88.
Today I will not dive into the astrological claims,
So I won't go through the process of explaining why they are incorrect,
Because I think that that in itself is an episode.
Rather,
I will walk you through some key points that I think were determinants and greatly contributed to both create and strengthen the ideas and concepts of what is now called the Lionsgate 88 portal.
Back in 1999,
When this article was published.
The idea of repeating sequence of numbers as energy portals was still very very baby.
But because this is crucial to understand this whole phenomenon of the Lionsgate 88 portal,
I'll walk you through a little bit of a timeline.
To the best of my knowledge,
A lady whose public name is Solara.
S O L A R A.
Was the first to reference the idea of a repeating sequence of numbers as an energetic portal.
This came with her work The 1111 Doorway that came to light in 1992.
Now,
During the 90s,
Though only published in 2005 if i'm not mistaken,
Doreen Virtue introduced the concept that sometimes seeing repeating sequences of numbers were messages from the spirit realm.
So Doreen's work spanned from pre-Ray's article to post-article,
So her work had an impact even before the article and even after the article,
Actually even to today's day and age.
And,
In general,
People like to extrapolate and mix concepts here and there many times without truly understanding neither the concepts nor the context.
And that's usually the problem.
So neither Solara nor Doreen nor Rey from what I can tell,
Actually actively contributed to any idea in specific to today's Lionsgate 88 stuff.
Rather,
The interpretations and the spin-off of ideas based on their work was what grew and what spread widely.
Looking more specifically into the Lionsgate 88 again.
I think an important mark was the year 2008.
And by 2008,
The numbers having energetic meanings beyond the ancient type of numerology was already well widespread.
So the August 8th,
2008 reduced to 888.
And this year seems to have been an important date for the widespread of Lionsgate 88,
Particularly the idea of the 88 and the numerological portal.
With new meanings of the number 8 that were not reflective of any of the traditional ancient schools of numerology seem to have started arising at this stage.
This seems to have been one of the most primordial important events to understand why every single repeating numbers in a date is nowadays considered an energetic portal.
Also important here,
I think,
Was the created narrative about the end of the long countdown of the Mayan calendar.
So the end of the Mayan long count calendar was on the 21st of December 2012.
But somehow,
There was a widespread idea everywhere.
All over the place that the Mayan calendar had an energetic portal that peaked on the 11th of November of 2011.
When nowhere in that calendar it is referred any energetic portal.
And the end.
Was only in the following year,
So over a year later in December 2012.
Again,
Shortly after 2008,
The 888 portal of the so-called Lion's Gate We had them made up of another portal based on the dates 11-11-11.
That was somehow decided to be associated with the Mayan calendar,
Probably because it was a big topic at the time.
And with this,
In 2011,
2012,
I think that It was when the idea that every repeating number on a calendrical date is a portal.
So January 1st is the 1-1 portal,
February 2nd is the 2-2 portal,
And so on.
Which of course this further strengthened the idea of the Lion's Gate 8-8 being some sort of magical portal.
And just so that I am clear,
Again,
Although Solaris and Doreen's work mentioned numbers,
Energies and even portals,
Neither of them contributed to the creation of any of the ideas around the 8-8 Lions Gate.
Rather,
It was their work that was taken out of context and tweaked and extrapolated to fit some other narratives.
As the idea of 8-8 date being important and a portal for this whole narrative of the Lionsgate several astrological claims were also created and gained a lot of traction,
Because they touched on concepts and ideas that many people liked and were associated to ancient schools of mystery,
Spirituality and mysticism.
For example,
We have the story of the alignment of the sun in Leo with Sirius,
We have a supposed connection with the helical rising of Sirius in Egypt at that time of the year,
And so on and so on.
Right,
So what happens then on the 8-8,
So on August 8th?
We have seen that in the sky,
The sun is in the cusp between the Cancer and Leo constellations,
So in a way,
You may call this time of the year as the Lion's Gate,
Because the sun is approaching and entering the entrance or gate of Leo.
And it just happens that in our Gregorian calendar,
This transition occurs during a period of days where we go through the 8th day of the 8th month.
Occasionally,
A season of eclipse happens that fall on the 8th month of the Gregorian calendar,
For example,
This year of 2026.
And sometimes,
It can even fall that one of the eclipses is on the 8th day of this month,
Such as it was in 1998.
So,
If there is an eclipse season occurring around these dates,
Yes,
You clearly have a portal during this time of the year because of the eclipses portals.
And depending on which context it falls under,
You could call a specific event as a Lion's Gate Portal,
As a name to that specific Eclipse Portal.
Similarly,
If an eclipse season falls in October,
You could call it the Maiden's Portal because At that time,
The Sun is in the constellation of Virgo.
And by the way,
I just made up the Maiden's Portal.
It's not a thing,
I'm just putting it out there as an example that you could also give a correspondent Lion's Gate to another constellation when you have an actual portal,
Such as,
For example,
During the Eclipse seasons.
Now when we are looking at these sort of origins and myths of things Obviously,
One always looks at motivations and the context on which things happen.
In my view,
The motivations that may have driven and still drive.
The creation and the continuation of the ideas of dates in the Gregorian calendar as portals and this time of the year with peak of sales because it is the lion's gate and if you blink you will miss a lifetime opportunity are many and i will not go down this road today However,
I would like to see this today,
Not from the perspective of those who have products and services to sell and are looking for views,
But rather to those that are coming into the field or community as many like to call it.
And they will hear and see the same narratives with the same buzzwords everywhere they look.
Most likely,
Most people don't even have enough background on the theme or themes to even suspect that there's something wrong.
And many times,
Even if they think that something's off,
Probably just don't have enough information,
Enough background to even be able to formulate why and what is it that they think it is off with the whole story and narratives that they hear about the lion's gate and the 88 portal.
And on top of this,
They will see people who are said to be professionals in some form of area or subject of this field,
Who are repeating this,
And who are following the narrative somehow.
And this gives credibility to the Lion's Gate by association and all of that.
I think that most people who doubt,
Many times they don't know what to think,
They get confused,
They may look at someone they follow and think that apart from the lion's gate everything else makes sense for them so they discard their thoughts and decide to sort of believe on the lion's gate thing and follow the the narrative of the lion's gate and aid portal And this has a name by the way,
It's called the Illusory Truth Effect.
Which basically is when you know that something is wrong,
Incorrect,
Or false,
But you are constantly told that what you think is false is actually true.
Then.
With time and with persistence of being constantly told all of this by a lot of people,
You will believe in the lie even though in the beginning you knew the truth.
So it's sort of another name for a different context of God's lightning and it can also involve some cognitive dissonance as well.
And by the way i think that even for many honest professionals on the spirituality field this is something that happens so no one is immune to this so even they can get confused and even they can doubt but even they can have the fear of being wrong and sort of feeling like they have to go with the flow of the Lionsgate narrative because otherwise either they are wrong or they will lose networking,
They will lose contact,
They will lose followers.
So also on this perspective we have to be very understanding of the human condition and of how these things spread so much and it's essentially a peer pressure that you have to believe in what everyone else in your field is saying and this is not exclusive to this spirituality and to this new age field,
This happens across many other subjects and fields.
But i also seem to find that as the years have gone by many people are starting to notice some odd things and are starting to question things and this is one of the most valuable traits that we have as humans the capacity to simmer information and to observe and and to just let it be and let it process slowly and if need be just question everything we once believed and decide to do a 118 hour beliefs if that is right this 118 hour beliefs or not that's another story but we do have the capacity for that as humans.
And I think we also need to remember that no one knows everything.
So having space to put out hypotheses and opinions is important and being able to be debatable and questioned properly in a constructive way is also important and this is definitely not the same as spreading false information and making claims and affirmations that no one even knows where they come from and suddenly just because everyone says then it must be true.
I may be wrong about this but I suspect that From what I can tell,
A lot of new age concepts,
Not all of them,
But many of them by now,
Had this logarithmic growth.
And we are starting to reach the end phase of this logarithmic growth so the slowdown phase and following a standard growth curve it is then likely that we will begin to initiate a decline phase which will be the phase that where these ideas and concepts are beginning to be questioned by people and people are starting to be disappointed with the promises of life-changing events and panaceas and so on and so forth.
Adding to this whole Lionsgate 88 stuff,
There are a couple of things that truly happen around this time of the year.
One is the Presidis showers in August,
And the other is the Lammas.
The Lammas is a Celtic season that happens between the summer solstice and the autumn equinox on the Northern Hemisphere.
I've seen that these events are used by some people to support the Lionsgate narrative as some sort of magical everything date,
That even these two things happen more or less at the same time,
So it must be true,
It must be special,
And all of that.
I hope that by walking you through a timeline of events up to today,
I can convey that nothing was born in a vacuum.
And that although there are many buzzwords used to sell and to make up ideas to create more views,
Sell products,
Services,
And whatever,
It doesn't mean that things don't exist.
For example,
Portals exist,
Number energies exist,
Correct information received either in channeling or through some other method of communication with beings of light exists,
Energetic activations and energetic upgrades exist.
Galactic portals exist.
So I am not questioning here the existence of what people used as inspiration to create a story and other ideas that contributed to it.
Rather i'm talking about the veracity of the claims that there is even an annual portal that always bears the same characteristics and and more every year it looks like it's more and more Okay,
Lastly,
I would like to talk a little bit about people's experiences in general around this time of this Lionsgate thing and what I think of them.
Many people say they feel the lion's energy.
All of that.
Which I think it could be.
It could be that what many people feel are the energies of the Leo or even maybe a little bit of the Cancer constellation.
And because they don't have the same level of focus and intentions,
Nor take the time to connect with the other constellations and gateways to constellations,
They don't feel the other energies.
But they do feel the energy of the Leo constellation,
And again,
Of that gate between Cancer-Leo,
And all of that.
And of course,
These are all very powerful energies.
I also think that some people can truly experience moments of actual activations and forms of enlightenment because the person took time and focused and connected with something higher that allowed them to receive some form of activation or upgrade or some form of healing.
However,
I also think that there are many cases where people experience the effects of suggestion.
They are predisposed to say and believe and feel that some magical alignments and activations are going to happen and they truly believe that they happened when they never happened.
Also i have heard some people who actively refuse to do any forms of meditations or their spiritual practices during the 8-8 and the dates close to it and rather stay very grounded disconnected from the collective energies as much as possible Because they find the energy of the collective too overwhelming during this time.
And for some,
When they engage with it,
Their experience was even negative,
Where they felt their energy being sucked and they felt they got negative energies.
And I don't doubt their experience because I very regularly see issues that people have that come from having been or being in some type of groups where energy or meditations are the main focus of work.
Especially people who are very sensitive.
Many times these people aren't even aware of how sensitive to energies they are.
So my general advice since I'm mentioning this and this is a very important thing actually is that if you are very sensitive to energies or if you are going through an emotionally difficult time it's probably not a good idea for you to be in spiritual groups especially these types of spiritual groups where there are many many many people at the same time actively engaging in spiritual energies that we have no idea what they are engaging with truly probably each one of them is engaging with their own thing and if you are this type of very sensitive person and or if you are going through a very difficult time emotionally,
Energetically,
It's always better for you to choose personal one-to-one sessions when you have to deal with spiritual energies.

You lose the life opportunity of some whatever activation and whatever,
Whatever.
It's true that we are going and have been going through shifts and massive energetic and physical changes i think we can all feel it and experience it but sadly it's also true that this is being used to create false ideas and even false predictions that don't really happen but they sort of keep people dependent and chasing their tails and spending a lot of their precious energy and time of their lives in very unnecessary and even false things and their money of course which so many have had to work hard and make an effort to do a job or be in a workplace that they don't even like,
And then to spend their money,
Energy in these things.
It's really heartbreaking,
Some cases,
You know.
