I'm your host Philippa.
Thank you for joining me tonight.
This meditation will help you to quickly release tensions,
Get you in the right dream state so you can have a very well-deserved night of restful sleep.
Take a moment to find a comfortable position for you.
Allow your body to fully let go and as you do so,
Feel that immediate tension and tightness leaving your body and settling this relaxation state.
Gently close your eyes.
Begin to notice your breathing.
The gentle rhythm of your natural breathing,
The in and the out of the air.
Take this as a reminder that there's nowhere to be right now,
Nothing to do right now except to be here in this moment.
Let's take a few deep but easy breaths.
Breathe in deeply through your nose and sigh it all out through your mouth.
And again,
Breathe in deeply through your nose and let it all out through your mouth.
Allow that yawn to come out to help you release further tension.
And let your breathing return to its own natural pace now,
Soft and effortless for you.
Bring your awareness to the top of your head and let any tension there to melt away by softening your forehead,
Releasing your jaw.
Allow your shoulders to drop heavy and relaxed.
And let this feeling further move down to your chest,
Your arms,
Down to your belly,
Going down all the way to your hips,
Your legs,
All the way down to your feet.
Your entire body is now heavily relaxed,
Unsupported,
Completely safe and at ease.
You are now ready to step into a portal.
And as you step into this portal that opens before you,
You find yourself standing at the edge of a quiet forest.
The sun is setting,
Casting warm golden light through the trees.
A gentle breeze moves through the leaves and you hear the soft rustling above you.
The birds have begun to settle in for the night.
And you step onto the path before you and you feel the breeze gently caressing you.
The soft moss under your feet.
Each step you take is slow and light and with each step you feel more and more relaxed.
The air smells fresh of earthy pine,
Dampwood and wildflowers.
And you allow these sensations to offer you a sense of peace that washes all over you.
You now find a small clearing and you lie down on the blanket of soft moss.
You look up through the trees as the sky slowly darkens.
A few stars begin to appear,
Twinkling softly against the darkness of the sky.
The energy of the forest is holding you,
Cradle of calm,
Tranquility and peace.
You feel completely safe,
You feel totally at peace.
And you let any lingering thoughts go and you allow the quiet serenity of the forest further envelop you.
Your breath is slow,
Your body is deeply relaxed.
The sky is now filled with twinkling stars.
You are part of this peaceful place.
And you let yourself drift deeper and deeper into comfort,
Into stillness,
Into sleep.
There's nothing more you need to do now.
Just rest,
Your body knows how to sleep.
Let the forest continue to hold you,
Safe and sound.
