My name is Fatima Farmer and I'd like to welcome you to this guided meditation.
Today we'll be focusing on cultivating and practicing vulnerability.
Calling the word vulnerability may bring a lot of different thoughts to mind.
But my intention with this practice is to help you cultivate a sense of security and comfort in yourself so that you can then express your needs lovingly to those who support you.
Showing up in vulnerability often times is not easy.
However it can be extremely rewarding if practiced with consistency and compassion.
If you are struggling with being vulnerable with the people around you,
I invite you to listen to this meditation daily.
If you haven't already,
Go ahead and find a comfortable position.
Dropping into a relaxing meditative state by simply closing your eyes and beginning to focus on your breathing.
Without altering your breath at all,
Just notice how your body naturally moves with each inhale and exhale.
The root of vulnerability is showing up for yourself and for others.
Practicing compassion makes that easier with time.
If you feel led to,
I'd like to invite you to place your left hand over your heart and just begin to notice how your heart is beating and how your body is moving with each breath.
Sending gratitude and appreciation to your body for functioning and working for all of these years,
Keeping you alive and healthy.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale slow and controlled out through your mouth.
And again,
Take a deep breath for five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One,
Hold for six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One,
And exhale for seven,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
From this place of relaxation and stillness,
I invite you to continue breathing at your own pace and just allow these words of affirmation to penetrate your spirit,
Repeating them silently to yourself and your mind or out loud as an act of courage,
Breathing in deep and receiving each word in your heart center.
It is safe to show up.
It is safe to be seen.
It is safe to be open and honest.
I am okay with admitting when I am not okay.
Not everyone will be receptive of my vulnerability,
But I will show up anyway.
I will show up for myself.
Self-healing is an act of self-healing.
I will be honest with myself and honest with others.
It's okay to admit that I am scared.
I am struggling and that's okay.
I am uncertain and that's okay.
I am divinely guided and supported.
I am seen.
I am loved.
I am heard.
I will validate myself.
God will validate me.
I will affirm myself.
God will affirm me.
I will allow others to validate and affirm me in healthy ways.
I will allow others to help.
I will ask for help.
I will receive help.
I will trust my loved ones.
I will accept love and support.
I am unconditionally loved and supported.
I will show up with myself each day.
I will show up with people I trust each day.
In this moment,
I have everything that I need.
Moment by moment,
I will show up in love.
Take a deep breath in through the nose,
Breathing in those words of affirmation,
Allowing them to connect with every cell in your body.
And breathe out any thoughts,
Energy that does not serve your highest good.
Begin breathing in,
Receiving the positive affirmations.
And breathing out any thoughts that contradict or hinder your growth.
Taking a few moments to notice how your body feels.
In this space,
I invite you to allow yourself whatever you need in this moment.
If you want to journal or pray or write or just be,
Choose what works for you.
I thank you for meditating with me.
