Hey there,
Darlings.
I want us to do a self-love practice.
You can do this in your bed,
On the floor,
Whatever feels most comfortable and ideal for you.
It's going to be a little movement,
A little breath work,
A little stillness,
And a guided meditation where I'm actually going to share one of my personal writings,
Self-love poem.
All right,
Going to get comfortable.
Cross your legs.
Know that you can do this seated in a chair also.
Place your hands wherever it feels most comfortable and ideal for you.
Soften those shoulders.
Feel the crown of your head,
Your Ori,
Rise towards the heavens.
Just allow yourself to observe and notice any sensations that may be running through your body.
Take another breath in.
Exhale out a big sigh.
Ah.
And you can just follow me,
Eyes opened or closed,
Whatever feels most comfortable.
I'm just going to find a little gentle movement.
It's just a little spinal flexion.
Inhale,
Chest forward.
Exhale,
Round the back.
We'll do this a couple of times,
Nice and easy.
Breathing in,
Chest forward.
Exhale,
Round.
Stretching out your chest,
Your throat.
And let's take a few more.
Inhale,
Forward.
Exhale,
Round.
And then bring your body back to neutral.
Sweep those arms high over your head,
Breathing in.
If the palms can come together,
Allow them to come together and then slowly exhale,
Bring your hands to your heart.
We'll do that a few more times.
Breathing in,
Arms rise,
Lift up.
Gathering up all that sweet energy,
Palms together.
Pass by your forehead,
Your lips,
And rest at your heart.
Two more times.
Inhale,
Arms rise.
Exhale,
Drop it down right to your heart.
One more.
And bring it down.
And then once your hands come to your heart center,
I want you to place your left hand over the center of your chest and then the right palm on top of that.
Just feel the rhythm and the beat of your heart.
Soften those shoulders.
I'm going to do a little breath work here.
So you're going to inhale for four counts.
You're going to pause for about one or two seconds and then you're going to exhale for six counts.
All right,
So I'll guide you.
Breathing in,
Two,
Three,
Four,
And pause.
Exhale,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six.
Inhale,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Pause.
Exhale,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six.
A few more rounds.
Breathe in,
Pause.
Exhale,
And slowly release your hands.
Note if you need to take any additional movement,
Feel free to do so.
You can move your ribcage from right to left.
You can shake it out if you need to.
Stretch wherever you need to.
But I want you to get comfortable.
So know that if you want to come onto your back,
Feel free to do so.
If you want to remain seated,
Feel free to do that.
Soften your gaze,
Relax the tongue in your mouth,
And allow yourself to drop into this moment of self-love.
Self-love is the way you return to yourself before you reach for anything outside of you to explain who you are.
Self-love is a quiet agreement between your heart and your choices,
Not a feeling you wait for,
But a way you live.
It is the way you speak to yourself when you make mistakes,
How you hold your own hand when you feel exposed,
And how you keep your dignity when you want to beg for clarity.
Self-love is the pause before you answer,
The breath that gives you back your voice,
The moment you ask,
What do I need to do now?
And actually listen.
Self-love is honesty without cruelty.
It's saying it hurts and not turning that pain into a reason to abandon yourself.
It is tenderness with standards,
Softness with boundaries,
And grace with discernment.
Self-love is choosing what matches you,
People,
Rooms,
Rhythms,
The kind of life that does not require your nervous system to brace.
Self-love is letting your no be clean,
Letting your yes be true,
Letting silence be a full sentence when you do not have the capacity to explain.
Self-love is receiving a compliment without deflection,
Help without apology,
And rest without earning it.
Self-love is the way you care for your body like it is a holy ground,
Not a problem to fix.
It is water,
It is sleep,
It is movement that brings you home,
It is stepping away before resentment builds a home in you.
Self-love is identity,
The decision to belong to yourself in every season,
Even when you are tender,
Even when you are rebuilding,
Even when the old version of you tries to return with familiar bargains.
Self-love is staying close,
Not perfect,
Not polished,
But present.
And over time,
Self-love becomes the one place you do not have to earn your right to exist.
Allow yourself to remain in this place of ease,
Allow the earth to hold and cradle you,
Allow yourself to remain where you are,
Breathing in,
Breathing out,
That you can remain here for as long as you desire.
Stay soft,
Stay grounded,
And always stay spiritually fly.
