It is wise to unwind for a few minutes because your very last thoughts right before sleeping might change your dreams and the quality of your sleep.
This meditation will help you unwind and seamlessly slide into slumber.
You can take a nice deep breath,
The deepest for today.
And if you haven't already,
You can gently close your eyes now.
And as you gently slow down your breathing,
You can start focusing on your inhales.
Feel the light air gently flowing into your body.
You can choose to focus on where you can feel it the most,
Coming through your nostrils.
As it inflates your lungs,
As it makes your belly rise,
The slower you inhale,
The thinner the air,
The more you can allow your body to relax.
With your eyes lightly closed,
You can start seeing with the eye of your mind and your imagination.
And as your viewpoint rises,
You can see yourself from the outside.
You can see your face relaxing and maybe find the hint of a smile.
And you realize you are leaving your thoughts with your body as you are moving away from it.
And you might feel lighter as you move up higher.
And from here,
You can see your whole body resting.
And you can gaze at your arms and your legs relaxed as you move your attention to the immediate surroundings,
The objects,
The colors,
The areas with more and less light.
And as you go higher even more,
You can see the streets and roads entering your field of vision.
And the sounds start becoming lower and lower.
And they seem to mix with one another as you get high enough to see the whole neighborhood.
And as everything looks smaller and smaller,
You can see the whole town.
And while you continue ascending,
You can see more and more cities and the whole country and the whole continent.
And as you move away,
You slowly start seeing the oceans.
And passing through the soft clouds,
The edges of the earth are becoming visible.
And as they come more and more into the picture,
They are offering you a complete view of the planet.
And as you float out of the atmosphere,
You might notice how from here everything looks so calm and peaceful.
And any thoughts and preoccupations are so far away now.
And as earth becomes smaller and smaller while you move farther and farther,
You can see the moon slowly peeking into the sky.
And you keep drifting away.
And as you keep drifting away,
You see one of our closest planets and another one and another one.
And as your sight moves from one to the other,
You start noticing the light of the sun at the center of them.
You can take a moment to observe our solar system with the sun,
The planets,
Their moons,
Move in perfect balance with one another.
And you might think that everything is going the way it's supposed to go.
In the right space.
With the right time.
With the right speed.
The more you think of it,
The more everything comes together.
And the solar system becomes less and less detailed.
And all you can see of it is the light of the sun.
And as it becomes smaller in the distance,
It starts looking the same as every other star you have ever seen in the night sky.
And as your attention moves away from its glimmering light to focus on the surroundings,
You can start seeing the closest star.
And the one next to it.
And as your movement helps you zoom out,
You realize how some stars are closer to each other.
And other parts of the night sky are emptier.
And as they seem to paint a picture for you,
You start seeing the shape of the immense spiral of light of the Milky Way,
Our galaxy.
With its warmer colors in the center.
And the colder ones at the edges.
And as you enjoy the view and the silence,
You can feel safe and quiet.
And the lights start melting together.
As the galaxy loses detail,
While you move away.
And its shape collapses into a light dot as you get far enough.
So you can see more galaxies.
With their different shapes.
Floating close to each other.
And as you focus on the dark space between them,
You can slowly see it's getting thinner and thinner.
As the lights seem to come together to form clusters.
While you keep moving.
Slowly but constantly.
And the more you look at the sky.
The lights.
The dark.
You can feel surrounded by the peace.
The comfort.
As you move towards the infinite edges of the universe.
And you know you are safe and free.
And there is nothing else you need.
Nothing that matters.
Really nothing at all.
And you are free to let go.
