Hello,
This is Esther Boykin and I'm so glad you're joining me for meditation today.
Go ahead and get comfortable,
Either seated or laying down if you prefer.
If you need to get a blanket or a pillow for behind your head or under your knees,
This is the perfect time to kind of get your body ready to get settled.
Today's meditation is all about reclaiming our energy.
So often in modern life,
We find ourselves pulled in a multitude of directions.
Maybe it's work or personal relationships.
Maybe it's how we feel called to take care of or respond to things happening in the world around us.
Maybe it's simply your own dreams,
Ambitions,
Worries,
And fears.
All of this can leave us feeling scattered.
Our energy and bits of who we are left in little corners all around our lives.
And so as we begin to just notice our breath and prepare to settle into meditation,
We want to envision all those parts of us,
All of that energy that we sort of leave out into the world,
Coming back home to center.
As you notice the natural rhythm of your breath,
I want you to bring that breath to the space between your belly button and your heart,
Your solar plexus.
Our solar plexus is the seat of our power,
Wisdom,
Ambition,
And confidence.
A warm,
Glowing,
Golden source of action and decisiveness.
But when our mental and emotional focus is scattered,
We can feel stalled,
Stuck,
Overwhelmed,
Depleted,
Stagnant,
And even shame.
Sometimes we feel incapable,
Inadequate,
Lost.
Today's meditation will help you pull your energy back into your core,
To tap into that warm,
Golden source of energy in our solar plexus,
So that we can discern which things to let go and where to take action and move forward with our day,
Our week,
Our lives with greater sense of centeredness and focus.
Take a nice deep breath,
Inhaling through the nose and exhaling slowly through your mouth.
Breathe in again,
Deeply breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth.
As you inhale,
Call back all the pieces of yourself,
Your energy,
Your focus,
From the places and people where you believe that you have left them.
Exhale,
And on the next inhalation,
Gently invite your scattered energy and thoughts to come home to you.
Inhale,
Calling all of your pieces back.
Exhale,
Welcoming them back home.
Inhaling again,
And exhale.
Gently guide your breath and energy to your solar plexus.
Feel the space between your belly button and your heart,
Warm.
Visualize its golden glow.
As you inhale,
Noticing the places where you feel scattered,
And on the exhale,
Allowing that golden glow to expand,
Welcoming your energy back,
Pulling it back into center.
Breathe in again,
And on the exhale,
Continuing to envision that golden glow,
That orb of warm,
Confident light,
Calling all of the parts of you,
The feelings of disorientation and lack of focus,
Calling all of those bits and pieces back to your center.
Inhale,
And exhale.
Again,
Continuing to feel the warmth and golden glow expand,
Enveloping the scattered energy,
Pulling it closer to your center.
Notice how,
As you focus your energy and your breath in that centered place,
How you feel more grounded.
Continue to breathe,
And simply notice.
Sometimes it's hard to call back all of those errant thoughts and focuses,
Anxieties that may be out there,
But we're just going to breathe,
And glow,
And patiently invite the parts of ourselves that have scattered far to come home to center.
Continue to breathe,
Feel the warmth,
And with your next breath,
We're going to let that golden light expand even further,
Like a warm cocoon all the way around you,
Expanding out from your solar plexus to envelop all of your body,
All of your energy,
To call those pieces home,
To feel held and supported within yourself.
And as we continue to breathe,
I invite you to notice what it feels like to be held by your own sense of confidence and clarity,
To embrace the parts of yourself that sometimes get lost and scattered in the shuffle of daily life,
But that feel at home when you call them back,
That help you to feel whole and centered.
Continue to notice this feeling as you breathe gently,
Allowing a golden light to surround you.
And exhale.
And when you're ready,
Gently begin to bring your awareness back to the room that you're in.
Notice if you can wiggle your toes and your fingers,
And notice that you're able to still hold on to that golden glow,
That sense of centered confidence.
If it's disappeared,
Don't worry.
There is no right or wrong way.
We don't need to grasp at it or hold on tight,
But if you still feel it,
Notice it.
Notice how it takes up space in the room around you as well.
And as you bring your full awareness back to the present moment,
I want to remind you that your breath is always with you,
And that you can return to that state of centeredness and call the parts of yourself that may feel scattered back home to center anytime you need to.
Thank you for joining me in meditation.
I hope that you will carry your breath and this reminder that you are worthy of love and compassion always.
