One Minute Magic - Reiki (3) Basic Hand Position 1

In part 3 of her micro-series on Reiki, Estelle introduces you to the first of the 9 basic hand positions. Make sure you've listened to parts 1 and 2 and activated your hands. The more you practise this, the easier it becomes and the stronger is the connection.

In basic Reiki there are nine hand positions. We'll take each position on its own and then you can combine them into a full treatment. First hand position, The solar plexus. Make sure you're really comfortable. Gently close your eyes. Picture a soft white light entering your body through the crown of your head and flowing down into your hands. Feel the warmth and the tingle of energy in your fingers and palms. Relax. Lightly place your hands flat on either side of your solar plexus across your ribs. The tips of your fingers touching. Focus your attention on this point. Feel the energy. Be aware of any emotions you may experience or thoughts that may arise. Just notice them and let them come and go. Picture the energy flowing in. At times you may feel the energy in your hands intensify or fade. There is no right or wrong. Just be there. How do you feel?
