Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is a calming, pleasurable experience characterized by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine, as experienced by some people in response to a specific gentle stimulus, often a particular sound. In this gentle, soothing practice, Dorothy uses the properties of ASMR in her guidance, to invite you to slip into restful, deep, and restorative sleep. There is the added gentle stimulus of rain in the background to enhance the experience and complement the soft, spoken word.

Lying in bed,

Allow your body to be supported beneath you.

Let your muscles relax.

Let them feel a heaviness as they sink into the comfort of relaxation.

As they are supported where you are,

Feel your body gently supported here in this quiet space as you are allowing all of your muscles to relax,

To release any and all tension.

Allowing tension to be released.

There is only the feeling of total comfort.

Deep calm and deep relaxation.

Notice your mind is focused here on my voice,

On the sounds that you hear.

The words describing a blissful state of relaxation and comfort.

Your mind is quiet,

It is peaceful,

It holds nothing.

It feels serene,

Empty.

You are simply present to your breath,

To the deep breathing of conscious breaths that are slow,

Rhythmic,

Peaceful.

You have all of the time that you need.

You are enjoying this state of calm and relaxation as you breathe deeply with gentle inhalation and longer exhalation,

Releasing all of your breath.

You are witnessing the slowing of your breathing,

Deeper inhalations and longer gentle exhalations.

It is all so easy to breathe,

To be comfortable.

To witness your body relaxed.

Beginning to drift into the space and time of deep,

Restful sleep.

Sleep that is so gentle,

So needed,

So beautiful.

There is only a need for sleep now.

Only breathing,

Only comfort.

Only eyes,

Heavy in the beauty of sleep that is beginning to overtake you.

You allow it,

You allow your body to relax and to sleep,

To sleep for a time,

For as long as you need,

For as long as is needed.

Then you will awaken refreshed,

Well rested and ready to enter into the day.

Feel the restful state of sleep now.

Fully in your body,

In your mind.

This is waiting for you.

This is what you feel now.

Allow yourself to drift into sleep,

Into deep slumber,

Deep relaxing sleep,

Here and now.

This is what you feel now.
