Hello and welcome to this meditation for a safe and peaceful sleep.

I know you've travelled a long way to be here.

Come close,

Tired soul.

Let me take care of you.

Let the weight of your day at our feet.

Step out of it and don't look back.

Leave your sword and your shield and your armour at the door.

I'll keep them safe for you.

You don't need them here.

Feel how light you are without their weight on you.

You're as light and as free as a bird.

Feel how soft you are without their hardness.

You're as tender as a child.

Let's take a few breaths together to acknowledge everything that you've done before this moment.

For us both to be here,

For our energies to embrace through time and space for this momentary dance is a miracle.

Life is magic.

You don't have to match my breaths or take the deepest breaths.

Breathe for you.

This isn't another thing for you to strive for.

Another thing for you to be good at.

Trust that your body will guide you to take the right breaths at the right times for you.

Just gently draw air in through your nose if you can and let it out through your mouth like you're blowing on a dandelion.

As you breathe out,

Watch those dandelion florets float away on your breath.

Good.

Breathing in air is like a rinse cycle for your body and your mind.

As you breathe out,

You let go of everything negative.

Everything stressful.

Everything that holds your thoughts hostage.

Everything that holds tension in your body.

Let go.

Let go.

Let go.

Good.

Tonight,

Your heart and your body and your mind are exhausted and yet sleep eludes you.

The very thing that you need,

The very thing that you crave is as distant and fleeting as the clouds.

It makes sense that it's hard for you to unwind.

It makes sense that it's hard for you to give up control.

Your body and your mind are holding onto the day like muscles that have cramped through over use.

All day you do and give and work and care.

You do a wonderful job and it's time to go home.

To your soul's home.

To the land of sleep.

Breathe in.

And as you breathe out,

Release.

Let go.

Let go.

Let go.

Be guided home.

All day you keep watch over your loved ones.

They are so lucky to have you.

Now breathe in.

And as you breathe out,

Release.

Now your job is done.

Let go.

All day you stay alert.

You predict.

You anticipate.

You do so much for so many people.

And your job is done.

Now breathe in.

And as you breathe out,

Release.

Let go.

Good.

All day you are the brave one.

The strong one.

You are appreciated and loved by so many.

And your job today is done.

Now breathe in.

And as you breathe out,

Release.

Let go.

All day you send your beautiful healing energy out into the world.

As I speak this,

I feel you.

Warm and gentle.

Tapped into an endless supply of universal love.

That universal love is still there for you.

But your job today is done.

Now breathe in.

And as you breathe out,

Release.

Let go.

Good.

Thank your nervous system for guiding you today.

And imagine it closing down.

Imagine it shutting down for the night like a computer.

Breathe in.

And as you breathe out,

Release.

Let go.

There are no more lights,

No more sounds,

No more updates,

No more alerts.

In this moment there is nothing for you to do but be.

In this moment there is nothing for you to be but you.

If you haven't already and you feel comfortable doing so now,

Please lie down in whatever position feels good.

Notice the softness beneath your feet.

Notice the softness beneath your head.

Notice how your body is cradled and held steady.

Place one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly.

And breathe at your own pace.

If you haven't already and you feel comfortable doing so now,

Please close your eyes.

Give your brain a moment to dissolve all the energetic residue that you've absorbed today.

When you first close your eyes this can look like fireworks or a kaleidoscope.

Know that it is normal and like clouds it too will pass.

Good.

You are doing so well.

All there is for you to do is breathe and I'll take care of the rest.

Tonight the world is calm.

The world is dark.

The world is silent.

The world is still.

You are not alone.

You are not alone.

You are here with me.

Within this space it is safe for you to relax.

Within this space it is safe for you to rest.

Within this space it is safe for you to sleep.

It is safe for you to sleep now.

It is safe for you to sleep.

Sleep.

Good.

It is safe for you to sleep.

It is safe for you to sleep.

It is safe for you to sleep.

You are not alone.

It is safe for you to sleep.

It is safe for you to sleep.

You are not alone and it is safe for you to sleep.

Sleep.

Good.
