Hello and welcome to this energy shower meditation.
I find this most effective when I'm sitting up in a comfortable chair or in bed.
Sometimes I do this meditation in the actual shower which is lovely on the mornings that I wake up feeling a little bit out of sorts.
It's also great to do while you sit in your car before school pick up or before an important meeting.
Find somewhere comfortable where you feel safe and where you can switch off and relax without being interrupted for the next 10 minutes.
Ready?
Good.
To begin place one or both hands on your heart,
Whatever feels comfortable.
Take a breath in through your nose as though you're smelling the most beautiful fresh air.
It could be near the sea or in a garden of roses or near a tray of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.
Whatever makes you feel happy in this moment.
When you're ready let go of your breath as though you were gently blowing out a candle.
Take another breath in and out.
They don't have to be deep breaths or really slow breaths,
Just breathe that beautiful fresh air in through your nose and then gently blow the air out again through pursed lips.
Go at your own pace.
Don't worry if you feel fidgety or distracted,
It's okay to scratch your nose or your knee if you need to.
Sometimes my first few breaths can feel quite laboured,
Especially if I've had a busy day.
That's totally okay.
Can take a few breaths for your body to settle down.
If you find yourself yawning that is a beautiful sign that your nervous system is quietening down.
If your foot twitches or your knee wants to rock that's okay too.
Hold space for your body to do what it knows is best in this moment.
Keep breathing.
If you haven't already naturally closed your eyes you might feel like doing that now.
You can leave your hand or hands on your heart or you can lie them at your sides or in your lap.
There are no rules,
No hand positions to remember,
Just be comfortable and keep breathing.
Sometimes it's as though technicolour fireworks are exploding behind my eyelids when I first start.
That's okay too.
This is a safe space to just breathe and be.
Imagine that above and behind you is a beautiful shower of warm,
Soft,
Sparkling energy.
This energy will never run out and is available to you at any time.
Sometimes you might see this energy as gold,
Sometimes blue or pink or even rainbow coloured.
Trust that whatever colour you see is what your body and your soul and your mind needs today.
When you're ready,
Imagine leaning back so that the warm shower of energy falls onto you and all around you.
Allow yourself a sigh.
That beautiful shower of energy washes away any negative thoughts,
Any tension you're carrying in your head and your neck.
It's all carried down into the earth through a drain at your feet to be turned into energy compost.
Breathe in through your nose and as you breathe out let it all go.
If you have a headache or you've absorbed emotions or stress or worries today,
Stay here as long as you need to.
Remember to keep breathing gently in through your nose and out through your pursed lips as the shower of energy carries it all away.
If you are very open spiritually,
You may wish to lift your face slightly and allow the warm,
Sparkling light to clear your third eye chakra.
Violet coloured light has a beautiful spiritual energy.
When you're ready,
Move your awareness to your heart and chest.
As the warm,
Sparkling energy flows down and over your shoulders and chest and back,
Imagine it washing away any tension there,
Any sadness,
Any grief,
Heartache,
Loneliness,
Regret.
Breathe in and out.
If you feel like crying,
That's okay.
Hold space for your body to let that emotion out.
Emotion is carried in water and crying is a cathartic way to release it.
Tears on your cheeks are tears that are no longer in your body.
Just breathe in through your nose and as you breathe out,
Let it all go.
Stay here as long as you need to.
As the energy shower washes it all away,
Your heart and chest are filled up with beautiful,
Clear,
Sparkling energy in its place.
Of all the colours,
Pink light has the highest vibration of love.
Don't worry if you're struggling to see colours,
Try focusing on any sensations in your chest and your heart right now.
You may feel a warmth or tingling or an expansiveness where before there was tightness.
Try to breathe.
Now move your awareness of the energy shower down to your belly.
As the warm,
Sparkling shower of energy flows down and through your torso,
It gently releases any tension there.
Imagine your belly like a tightened fist that slowly opens with each breath in and out.
It might surprise you to know that this area of your body is the centre of your intuition and can hold a lot of stuck energy.
If you're someone who clenches their tummy during stressful moments,
You may be working against your intuition.
Butterflies,
Unexplained tummy aches or a sensation of your belly dropping or flipping are all insured of signs to pay attention to.
Ask yourself what is happening around you in that moment that your soul is reacting to.
Your belly never lies.
Stay here as long as you need to.
Breathe in and out.
All that stuck energy is carried away from your head,
Your shoulders,
Your heart,
Your chest and your belly.
Down the drain,
Deep,
Deep into the earth,
In its place,
Beautiful,
Fresh,
Warm,
Sparkling energy.
I like to finish by moving the energy shower above my head again and staying under it for as long as feels good.
If you're about to go to bed,
You can imagine a gentle,
Calming blue energy soothing your soul in preparation for sleep.
If you are at the beginning or middle of your day,
Imagine a warm,
Yellow light filling your soul up with sunshine,
Ready to face the world.
Breathe in and out.
Place your hand or hands over your heart again for one or two last breaths.
Breathe in and out.
Notice how different you feel.
Slowly wiggle your fingers and toes and blink your eyes a few times as you come back to reality.
