Welcome,
Let this be your moment to pause,
To remember that even in the ordinary,
The miraculous is waiting.
Begin by finding a comfortable seated or lying position,
Let your hands rest softly,
Palms open in a gesture of receiving.
Close your eyes gently and take a slow deep breath in and exhale fully,
Again inhale deeply and release.
Let your body begin to soften,
Let the world grow quiet and let your awareness turn inward like a candle turning towards its own flame.
Continue to feel the breath arriving and leaving,
Simple and steady.
Each breath is a miracle,
Unasked for but freely given,
Notice that.
As you breathe feel the rhythm of your chest rising and falling,
The gentle expansion of your belly,
The air cooling your nostrils as it enters and warming as it leaves.
There is no need to change anything,
Just allow yourself to breathe.
And with each breath,
Feel yourself becoming more present,
More rooted and more open.
Now in your minds eye,
Imagine you are standing in a vast quiet field at sunrise.
The earth beneath you is soft,
The sky above is alive with golden light.
You are completely alone yet deeply connected to everything.
As the first light of the sun touches your skin,
You feel it,
Something sacred,
A recognition that life itself is miraculous.
Begin to notice the tiny intricate miracles all around you,
The way the dew holds the light like tiny prisms,
The steady heartbeat within your chest,
The fact that you've made it to this moment through everything you've lived.
Place your hands over your heart and feel its warmth,
And say silently in your mind or aloud,
I give thanks for the miracles I've forgotten to see.
I open my eyes to the wonder that surrounds me.
I am willing to be amazed again.
Now imagine walking through this sunrise field.
With each step you begin to see glowing orbs of light floating in the air around you.
Each one represents a miracle you've received,
Big or small.
Some you remember,
Some you've never even noticed.
You walk past one and a memory appears,
A moment someone showed up just when you needed them,
A time you laughed when you didn't think you could,
A narrow escape,
A perfect song at the perfect time.
You begin to see hundreds of these orbs,
All moments you were guided,
Protected and loved.
Some are still unfolding even now.
Let yourself be surrounded by them,
These luminous reminders of grace,
And breathe it in.
You affirm in your mind,
I live in a world where miracles are real.
I honour the gifts I've received,
Seen and unseen.
I trust that more are on their way.
And as you say this,
You begin to come back to the now,
Gently,
You can wiggle your fingers and your toes and roll your shoulders,
And when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Let the light of the room return to your awareness,
But keep the feeling with you,
Let this gratitude walk beside you as you move through your day.
You don't need proof to believe in miracles,
You only need to pay attention,
Because they're already here.
