This meditation develops focus and clarity through attention to the breath at the tip of the nose (or nostrils). By maintaining one-pointed attention, we train the mind to concentrate and create space for solutions to arise. One ring of the singing bowl will signal the beginning and 3 rings will signal the end of this meditation.

Transcript

To prepare for a breath meditation,

Find a comfortable position,

Either standing,

Sitting,

Or even lying down.

Close your eyes and turn your attention inward to your breath.

And shift your attention and place it right at the very tip of your nose.

Allow your attention to rest at the tip of your nose as you notice air move past this point.

Without following the path,

The breath is taking into and out of your body.

Simply allow your attention to stay with the tip of your nose,

Noticing air move past the point.

At the tip of your nose,

You might notice the coolness of the inhale or the warmth of the exhale.

But all the while,

One pointed attention on whatever sensation you notice at the tip of your nose.

As you breathe with attention fixed at the tip of your nose,

Everything else melts away.

Until there is only the sensation of the movement of air at the very tip of your nose.
