Welcome.
My name is Fletcher.
And in this moment,
We are in my backyard.
I live in the woods.
It's nearly August.
And there's beginning to be a storm building in the environment.
I live in a pretty rural area near the Chesapeake Bay.
And the sounds in this spot are pretty unique.
I could listen to them blindfolded and know exactly where I am at any time.
These sounds of summer are what I'd call nostalgic,
But in the present tense.
And I'd like to share them with you while you also pay attention to the sounds in your environment as well.
So we'll begin our meditation today by listening to the sounds that are closest in proximity.
You'll then begin to move your attention to sounds that are a bit further away.
And now stretch the distance of your hearing,
Finding the most far out sounds in the world.
Most far out sounds that you can reach.
Marry your heart.
Shifting your auditory attention over to the sounds on the right side of your body.
Now shifting your auditory attention over to the left side of your body.
Notice the sounds on both the right and left sides of your body.
Notice the sounds on both the right and left sides of your body.
Shifting your awareness once again to the sounds,
This time in the front of you.
Notice the sounds on both the right and left sides of your body.
Notice the sounds on both the right and left sides of your body.
Your focus changes to the sounds behind you.
Combining your attention to the sounds both behind you and in front of you.
With your awareness both ahead of you and behind you,
Expand it to include the right and the left.
The sounds come from all around.
Near and far.
Some last longer than others.
Sometimes there's no sounds.
Sometimes there's lots of sounds.
Whatever it is that they are,
Allowing yourself to be present for them.
Should you find your thoughts wandering off about the sounds or anything else,
Just be aware,
Come back to the sounds in my environment and your environment.
Focus on your Raiders voice and to your left.
Continue with your auditory sensory meditation for a few more minutes.
Just listening.
Trevor.
You're aware of your senses and your environment,
But now also become aware of yourself in this moment.
What is your state of mind?
Your state of being?
And how has this shifted since before this meditation?
You are aware of not only your external environment now,
But also your internal environment.
And just as you listen to the sounds around you,
Do you observe what's happening within you?
Just watching and observing.
You are aware of what's happening within you.
Let's begin to shift into an area of a gratuity.
As I am so thankful to have shared this experience with you.
Take a moment and think of some things that you might be thankful for.
You allow this shift of gratuity to transform into one of love.
Bringing in perhaps a person,
An animal,
Even a place.
Noting what it feels like to have love for that thing.
Perhaps what it feels like in your whole body,
In your spirit,
And how the sensation of love manifests itself in your whole radiant being.
Be love.
Until next time,
Thank you and goodbye.
