The Deepwater Reset.
Before we begin,
Just a gentle reminder,
My friend,
That not every feeling is a problem and not every uncomfortable emotion is a sign that something is wrong.
Sometimes sadness is simply sadness and sometimes fear is simply fear.
Overwhelm sometimes is our nervous system's way of saying.
I have been carrying this for far too long.
And tonight is not about fixing yourself.
It's not about becoming calmer and it's not even about forcing peace.
It's about remembering that beneath every single wave.
.
.
There is water.
And beneath every feeling.
There is still a self that remains.
So allow yourself to settle and feel the sand beneath you.
The earth beneath the sand and the ocean beyond the shore.
Notice the rhythm of the waves.
And notice your breath.
Neither one needs your help right now,
By the way.
Already know what to do so take a slow breath in and slowly release it out.
The sun has begun to descend and the day is softening.
And somewhere beyond the horizon where the sea meets the sky.
Something ancient is waiting.
Not to test you.
Not to judge you.
Only you.
To teach you.
And as the waves continue their endless conversation with the shore.
You begin to walk.
You find yourself alone tonight on a moonlit beach.
The tide is low,
The air warm.
And the sky above glows with a soft silver light of the Cancer New Moon.
The ocean stretches endlessly before you calm.
Dark.
And mysterious,
And as you walk you notice something unusual.
The shoreline is covered in glass bottles.
Hundreds of them and you notice Each one of them is sealed.
Each one of them carrying a different emotion.
One bottle contains grief.
Another.
Anger.
The next.
Disappointment.
And you see the other.
Containing loneliness.
You realize that these bottles have been weighing and washing ashore your entire life.
Life.
Feelings that you never had time to feel and emotions that you buried.
Experiences you survived and immediately moved past.
One by one.
Bottle by bottle.
Year after year.
And now they sit here.
Waiting.
Not demanding,
Simply.
.
.
Waiting.
And notice the bottle that your attention moves towards first.
There's no wrong answer here,
Just trust whatever appears and walk towards it.
Pick it up.
And hold it gently in your hands.
What feeling?
Is inside.
What have you been carrying?
What have you been avoiding?
What is it that you have been trying to outthink?
Outrun.
And at work.
Simply notice.
Nothing needs to change.
Nothing needs to be solved.
Only witnessed.
Because that alone is an act of courage.
As you stand with the bottle in your hands,
A voice calls from the water.
It's not loud or frightening,
But.
.
.
Familiar.
The voice of a siren,
Not the kind from the stories,
Not a creature who lures sailors to destruction.
But something much older.
A guide.
A keeper of emotional tides and a guardian of deep waters.
As she rises from the ocean,
You notice how the moonlight weaves in and out of her hair like strings.
Seafoam wraps around her shoulders,
And eyes that seem to hold every storm that has ever crossed the sea.
She smiles gently at you and asks,
Why are you afraid of this feeling?
You begin to answer,
But then,
Pause.
Because the truth arrives first.
Maybe you are afraid that it would consume you.
Or maybe you've been afraid that it would never leave.
Maybe.
.
.
You've been afraid that it would prove something about you.
That you're weak or broken.
Too sensitive,
Too emotional,
Or just too much.
And the siren listens.
She actually laughs softly,
But not at you with kindness,
Like someone hearing a child explain that they're afraid of a shadow.
You have confused feeling a wave with becoming the ocean.
As she extends her hand to you,
You take it.
And together you step into the water.
The waves rise around you,
Up your thighs,
And then around your waist.
The water rises to your chest,
Your shoulders,
And yet something strange happens.
You don't sink.
You float.
You notice that the deeper you go,
The calmer the water becomes until eventually you discover something new.
Impossible.
Beneath the ocean is a hidden spring.
Crystal clear,
Perfectly still,
Untouched by wind.
Untouched by storms.
And untouched by even tides.
The siren explains.
Most people spend their lives trying to calm the surface as she gestures up towards the waves.
But peace was never hiding there.
Peace.
Lives deeper as she places one hand over your heart.
Feel your breath.
Feel your body.
Feel the weight of the sand beneath you.
The support of the Earth.
The rhythm.
Of your heartbeat.
The rise and fall of your lungs.
This.
Is your hidden spring.
This place is beneath panic.
Beneath anger.
Beneath overwhelm and every passing emotion.
The place that will always remain just beneath the surface.
The siren asks you to place the bottle into the spring.
Watch the emotion inside.
Begin to glow.
It doesn't dissolve or disappear.
It simply softens.
The feeling is no longer trapped,
No longer sealed away,
Or fighting to be noticed.
Because.
.
.
It's been witnessed.
Because it's been welcomed,
Because it finally is.
Belongs.
And for the first time,
You start to truly understand that healing is not getting rid of emotions.
Healing is not getting rid of the feelings.
Healing is learning that they can move through you without taking you with them.
The waves arrive.
The waves leave.
And the ocean.
Remains.
And so do you.
The siren smiles one final time and slowly returns to the sea.
The hidden spring fades.
The shoreline returns.
And the moon hangs quietly overhead.
The waves continue arriving.
And leaving.
Arriving.
And leaving.
As they always have.
So take a deep breath in.
And a slow breath out and notice your body.
Notice the sand.
In the air.
Notice the sound of the water.
Take a deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Remember.
.
.
You do not need to be calm in every wave.
You do not need to solve every feeling.
You certainly don't need to become less emotional.
You only need to remember that beneath the surface,
There's stillness.
And it's been waiting for you all along.
Welcome back.
Welcome home.
And thank you for joining me for this deep water reset.
