Welcome,

My dear friends,

To tonight's magical bedtime story.

My name is Jacob Evans,

And I'm so honored to guide you into a space of peace and wonder.

A place where snow glows softly beneath the northern lights,

And where your heart can rest in the quiet magic of winter.

Whatever you've carried today,

Know that you've done enough.

Truly,

It is enough.

This is your time now,

A time to set everything down and simply be.

As the snow falls softly outside,

Imagine a world blanketed in shimmering frost.

A world where lanterns glow with warmth and mystery,

And the northern lights weave their colors across a quiet sky.

Tonight,

You'll journey to the magical valley of Lumina,

Where a shimmering snow rabbit will guide you along a path lit with frosted lanterns.

Together,

We'll uncover the heart of Lumina,

A place where frozen flowers bloom,

And the spirit of the season comes alive in the glow of winter's magic.

With each breath,

Feel the world around you soften and the edges blur.

The lines between the ordinary and the extraordinary fade,

Leaving only the comfort of this snowy haven.

Close your eyes,

Take a deep breath,

And let's step together into this enchanting tale.

The world was silent,

Cloaked in the hushed beauty of freshly fallen snow.

A soft wind whispered through the frosted trees,

Carrying with it the faint scent of pine and the sharp,

Clean chill of winter.

I pulled my scarf closer,

My breath forming clouds that drifted into the night.

Above,

The stars shimmered like scattered jewels,

And in the distance,

A soft glow pulsed faintly,

Beckoning me forward.

It was then I saw it,

A snow hare,

Its fur shimmering like moonlight,

Almost too bright for the shadowy forest.

Its large,

Curious eyes met mine for a moment,

And without a sound,

It turned and bounded away through the snow.

Something in the way it moved,

Light as a breeze,

Compelled me to follow.

I hesitated for a moment,

Then stepped forward.

The crunch of snow beneath my boots,

The only sound breaking the quiet.

The hare led me through the trees,

Its glowing form the only guide in the darkness.

The forest seemed alive,

Branches arching protectively overhead as if sheltering a secret.

Then,

As we broke free of the woods,

I saw them.

Lanterns scattered across the snow,

Their soft light shimmering like tiny stars fallen to the earth.

Each was unique,

Some shaped like delicate flowers,

Others like intricate globes of ice.

They glowed with a warmth that seemed impossible in the frozen landscape.

Their light humming softly as though singing a melody only the heart could hear.

The hare paused,

Its luminous ears twitching as it glances back at me,

Urging me onward.

I felt a tug in my chest,

As if the lanterns themselves were calling.

The glow in the distance grew stronger,

And with each step,

The snow around me seemed to glitter more brightly.

As though the ground itself was made of crushed diamonds.

Where are you taking me?

I whispered,

Though I knew the hare would not answer.

Still,

I felt its purpose,

A gentle guidance towards something I was meant to find.

The wind picked up,

Carrying the scent of something sweet and ancient.

And ahead,

The faint outline of a valley began to emerge.

The lanterns multiplied,

Dotting the trail like breadcrumbs,

Leading me to a world untouched by time.

And above it all,

The first glimmers of the northern lights began to dance,

Painting the sky with ribbons of emerald,

Violet,

And gold.

As I descended into the valley,

The glow of the lanterns grew more vibrant,

Their gentle hum now a soft symphony that seemed to harmonize with the crackling air.

The shimmering snow hare hopped ahead,

Leaving faint,

Luminous paw prints in the pristine snow.

It felt as though I had stepped into a realm where winter itself had become alive.

An otherworldly haven hidden from time.

The valley opened before me,

A glistening expanse of untouched snow cradled by towering ice cliffs.

At its heart,

A frozen stream snaked through the landscape,

Its icy surface reflecting the kaleidoscope of the northern lights above.

On either side of the stream,

Clusters of frozen flowers bloomed,

Their crystalline petals sparkling like stars trapped in ice.

I knelt beside one of the flowers,

Marveling at its delicate beauty.

Its petals seemed to shift and shimmer as though holding a secret.

And when I brushed it lightly,

A warmth radiated from within the ice.

For a fleeting moment,

I saw an image.

A memory flicker across the flower's surface.

It was of a child laughing in a snowstorm,

Their mittened hands outstretched to catch the falling flakes.

A pang of nostalgia surged through me.

The memory felt familiar,

As if it were my own.

The snow hare waited patiently,

Its glowing form a steady beacon.

As I rose to follow,

I noticed that each flower I passed seemed to hold a different memory.

A woman lighting a lantern in a frozen pond.

A group of friends huddled around a fire,

Their faces lit with joy.

The valley wasn't just alive,

It was a repository of moments.

Frozen in time,

Yet brimming with life.

The lanterns grew closer together as we approached the valley's center.

Their light growing warmer,

More golden.

They illuminated a path that wound through the flowers,

Leading toward a distant clearing where the glow was brightest.

As I walked,

The air seemed to hum with energy,

And I felt a quiet sense of belonging,

As though this place had been waiting for me all along.

The northern lights overhead began to intensify.

Their colors cascading like liquid silk.

They rippled in synchrony with the hum of the lanterns,

Creating an ethereal harmony that made my chest ache with wonder.

I paused to take it all in.

The frozen flowers,

The glowing lanterns,

The shimmering ribbons of light in the sky,

And felt an overwhelming sense of peace wash over me.

The snow hair stopped suddenly,

Its ears twitching as it turned to face me.

It didn't move,

But simply looked into my eyes.

It gazed deep and steady.

Then,

Without a sound,

It bounded forward,

Leading me toward the clearing.

In the center of the valley,

The lanterns formed a perfect circle.

Their light converging in a radiant glow.

At the heart of the circle stood a single,

Towering flower encased in ice,

Unlike any I had seen before.

Its petals were larger,

More intricate,

And within its crystalline embrace,

The light of the lanterns seemed to gather and pulse like a heartbeat.

I stepped into the clearing,

Drawn to the towering flower at its center.

Its icy petals shimmered like polished glass.

It refracted the lantern's golden light into a rainbow of colors that danced across the snow.

The snow hair waded by the flower's base,

Its luminous fur casting soft halos around it.

For the first time,

I noticed how still the world had become.

No wind,

No hum of the lanterns,

Only the gentle rhythm of my breath and the shimmering quiet of this magical place.

As I approached,

The flower seemed to respond,

Glowing brighter with each step.

When I was close enough to touch it,

The warmth radiating from the ice was unmistakable.

As though it carried the very essence of life itself.

I reached out cautiously,

My fingers brushing the frosted surface,

And a surge of energy rippled through me.

The world around me melted into light.

I saw images,

Not just memories,

But emotions,

Woven together like a tapestry of human experience.

There was joy,

Laughter,

And hope,

But also sorrow,

Longing,

And love.

Each moment,

No matter how fleeting,

Was preserved within this flower.

Glowing with a radiance that transcended words.

And then,

I understood.

The lanterns,

The frozen flowers,

The entire valley,

They were not just decorations of this enchanted place.

They were vessels,

Holding the collective wishes,

Dreams,

And memories of those who had found their way here.

The valley wasn't a sanctuary for the lost.

It was a keeper of stories.

A place where even the smallest fragments of life's beauty were cherished and preserved.

The snow hair stepped forward.

Its luminous form now tinged with the colors of the northern lights.

It looked at me with an almost knowing expression,

Then placed its paw gently on the base of the flower.

A soft sound,

Like the chiming of distant bells,

Echoed through the clearing as the flower's light grew and blossomed.

Possibly bright.

In that brilliance,

I felt something deep within me shift.

A warmth spreading through my chest,

Melting away the heaviness I hadn't realized I'd been carrying.

It was as though the flower had reached into my heart and found the parts of me I thought I'd lost.

The pieces I'd buried beneath the weight of years.

Gratitude.

Joy.

Wonder.

They flowed through me like a river,

Washing away the cold.

The light dimmed slowly,

Leaving only the gentle glow of the lanterns and the steady shimmer of the northern lights.

The snow hair turned to me one last time.

Its gaze filled with quiet understanding before it bounded into the trees and disappeared.

I stood alone in the clearing,

Surrounded by the beauty of the valley.

I felt a profound stillness settle over me.

The lanterns hummed softly,

Their golden light a promise that I was never truly alone.

And as I turned to leave,

I knew I carried the magic of Lumina within me.

A gentle,

Glowing ember that would guide me through the coldest nights.

The path back through the valley was illuminated by the lanterns.

Each step lighter than the last.

Above,

The northern lights danced in farewell,

Their shimmering hues painting the snow in colors of hope and renewal.

And as I climbed out of the valley,

The memory of the flowers' warmth lingered in my heart.

A quiet reminder of the beauty waiting to be found,

Even in the frostiest corners of the world.

Earlier this Winter I discovered Jacob's stories by chance. Since then I have been working through them, picking that evening's story not initially from the text, but from the accompanying picture. I am able to say I have yet to actually finish a track because they all soothe me into sleep. However I do usually manage to stay awake long enough to hear him tell me that I have done enough for the day. For the days when I am overwhelmed as well as for the days where I seem unable to get my mind round doing anything, it is these words which bring me great comfort. Thank you Jacob for your work in creating these wonderful stories and for sharing them with the Earth family. 🙏🏻✨🙏🏻
