Stillness.
Welcome to Mindful Motivation.
Let's practice stillness,
A quiet center.
Take a moment to settle in and gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Bring your awareness to the outer edges of your physical body.
Notice any points of contact,
Where your feet touch the floor,
Or your hands rest on your lap.
Now gently begin to turn your attention inward.
Even in physical stillness,
You might notice your mind is full of activity,
Of thoughts and ideas moving at a quick pace.
That's completely normal.
The practice of stillness isn't about stopping your thoughts,
But about finding a calm place amidst them.
Imagine a beautiful still pond on a cool morning.
The water is perfectly calm and reflects the sky above.
Now imagine a stone dropping into the water.
It creates ripples that spread out across the surface.
Your thoughts are like those ripples.
You can't stop the stone from dropping,
But you can learn to watch the ripples without being carried away by them.
Inhale and feel your breath deepen your connection to the present moment.
Exhale and release any need to control your thoughts.
Just like the pond,
You can contain all the moment and activity without being disturbed by it.
Your mind is big enough for all your thoughts,
But they don't have to define your inner state.
You are a steady,
Quiet observer of it all.
Take one last deep,
Centering breath in,
And as you exhale,
Feel a deep sense of stillness.
And when you're ready,
You can gently open your eyes.
Breathing in,
I am calm.
Breathing out,
I smile.
Thank you for practicing mindful motivation together.
Remember,
You are calm.
You are centered.
Have a wonderful day.
