Welcome to My Little Corner of the World.
My name is Diana,
And today we're going to go over the tapping points.
What are tapping points?
Tapping points are acupuncture points,
But instead of needles,
We're going to use our fingertips to tap on those points.
You'll find that tapping practitioners often use slightly different points.
So mine may be different than what you've seen before.
If you're already familiar with EFT,
Also notice my series of points is shorter.
I use the points from the top of the head to the collarbone.
In the vast majority of cases,
That's enough for people to feel a shift.
And feel better.
So I've simplified things from their traditional longer EFT tapping sequence that includes under the arm and the hand points.
Let me describe each point and you can see these points in my tapping videos.
The first point is the crown or the top of the head.
Just use your open palm and gently tap there.
Whenever you're tapping anywhere on the body,
We're not trying to slap some sense into ourselves.
We just want to feel this sensation of touch.
So that sensation is very light.
You just want to notice that you're feeling the touch.
So gently tap on top of the head and notice that sensation of touch.
The next point is actually two points because they are very close to each other.
And that is the beginning of each eyebrow.
So right above the nose,
You have the beginnings of the eyebrows,
The interior beginnings,
And you're going to take two of your fingers and put them at the start of each eyebrow.
And just tap gently on both at the same time.
From there,
We move around the eye.
There are actually a lot of acupuncture points around the entire eye and most all of them are located right on the edge of the bone.
So right on the edge of the eye socket,
The bone are the majority of acupuncture points.
And we use three of them in this tapping sequence.
The first is the beginning of the eyebrow,
Which we just covered.
The second is at the side of the eye,
Again on the edge of the bone.
And then the third is just underneath the eye.
So if you're looking straight ahead,
It would be directly underneath where your pupil is located.
Be very gentle in this location because the skin around the eyes is very soft and tender.
Again,
We just want that sensation of touch.
Next is the point under the nose.
I use two fingers here.
Which really is a good approach for all of these points since it helps you cover the area fully.
The next point is sometimes called the chin point,
Although it's not actually on the chin.
It's in that small crease just under the lower lip.
There's a whole series of acupuncture points that runs down the center of the body.
Including one right on the point of the chin.
But in tapping,
We typically use the one that is in that crease above the chin and below the lower lip.
The last point is at the collarbone.
You have two collarbones running from each shoulder towards the center.
And in the center is the sternum bone.
Where they attach is where the acupuncture points are located.
You can choose to either tap on the left attachment point or the right attachment point,
Or you can open your hand fully up and cover both at the same time.
The collarbone point is actually a very natural point for people to go to without even thinking.
Multiple times I've seen on TV,
Where some horrible tragedy has happened.
Usually it's a house burning down,
And the reporters are right there to stick their microphone in someone's face.
And they're like,
Well,
How do you feel about your house burning down?
And the poor person,
Of course,
Is totally overwhelmed.
And many of them tap on their upper chest on this collarbone area.
They're hitting the two collarbone points.
And also a lot of people find tapping on the sternum to be very relaxing.
To.
So we see that when people are under a lot of stress that it's a very natural point to go to.
And that's it.
Those are the points that I use for somatic tapping.
But a lot of you may ask,
Well,
What about the hand points or under the arm points?
I don't do the under the arm point because it's really very uncomfortable for a lot of people.
You know,
If you want to include it,
You can.
And for the hand points,
I primarily I primarily use those when I'm in public and I don't want to be seen tapping on my face because,
You know,
It's going to look a bit too weird,
But I still want to self-regulate.
So I'll use the hand points.
I will show you the hand points later on in a video.
The next step is to put the breathing and the points together.
