Welcome to my little corner of the world.
My name is Diana and I help people learn how to use somatic tapping.
Today,
We're going to work with the feeling of not feeling safe.
And by the end,
We're going to move into imagining a place where you do feel safe.
Music comes in a little bit later.
So let's start with some grounded breathing.
Get comfortable wherever you're at.
And put your hands over your heart.
And take a deep breath in.
And release the breath.
Take another long,
Slow,
Deep breath in.
And slowly release it.
Take one more deep breath in.
All the way to the bottom of your ribs.
And slowly let it go.
We're going to come up to the top of the head.
And tap gently.
I'm going to make some statements and I want you to repeat them if you'd like.
Or just let them wash over you if you'd rather not.
Then we'll take a breath together.
I don't feel safe right now.
Take a deep breath in.
And slowly release the breath.
On the eyebrow points.
Something in me doesn't feel safe.
And I'm allowing myself to notice that.
Take a deep breath in.
And release the breath.
Side of the eye.
I acknowledge this feeling of not being safe.
It's been here for a while.
Take a deep breath in.
And release the breath.
Under the eye.
I don't feel safe.
And I'm tired of carrying that feeling.
Take a deep breath in.
And slowly release the breath.
Under the nose.
Even though I don't feel safe right now.
I'm willing to imagine what safety might feel like.
Take a deep breath in.
And slowly release the breath.
Under your lower lip.
I'm ready to let some of this unsafe feeling go.
Take a deep breath in.
And release the breath.
And on your collarbone I give myself permission to feel safe.
I give my body permission to relax.
Take a deep breath in.
And let it go.
You can relax and stop tapping.
Now I want you to imagine a place.
Real or made up.
It doesn't matter.
Where you feel completely safe.
Maybe it's a cabin somewhere quiet.
Maybe it's a room you remember from childhood.
Maybe it's somewhere you've never been.
But you can picture it clearly.
Wherever it is,
Let it take shape.
Notice what you see around in this place.
Notice the light.
Is it soft?
Is it warm?
Is it bright?
Notice if there are colors that stand out to you.
Notice sounds.
Maybe it's quiet.
Maybe there's something gentle in the background.
Water.
Wind.
For nothing at all.
Notice how the ground feels beneath you.
Or whatever is supporting you in this safe space.
Let yourself settle into it.
This is your place.
No one can enter unless you invite them.
Nothing here can hurt you.
You are safe here.
Take a deep breath in.
And as you release it.
.
.
Let your body know that this feeling of safety is available to you.
It's not just imagination.
Your body can hold on to this feeling Take one more breath in this safe place.
And when you're ready.
Gently bring your awareness back to the room you're actually in.
Knowing you can return to this safe place anytime you need to.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
I hope you carry a little bit of that safety with you.
And I'll see you next time.
