Hi,
My name is Diana.
I am a Mind-Body Connection coach,
A psychosomatics specialist,
And a meditation teacher.
Today,
I want to talk to you guys about confession.
Have you ever felt when talking to someone that you deeply resonated with their feelings and experiences,
That you wanted to help them and perhaps ease their problems?
This is compassion,
A fundamental human quality that can transform not only your life,
But the world around you.
We are all on the journey of self-development.
We all want to achieve our dreams and goals.
And most of us are so harsh on ourselves.
We are our best self-critics.
And even unconsciously,
We believe that this is the best way to motivate ourselves to achieve,
To become someone else,
To be better.
Just recently,
I found myself in a very stressful situation.
I had an exam,
And I didn't really prepare for that.
And I was blaming myself for wasting time,
For not doing enough.
And I was in this circle of negative thoughts.
But I decided to try something new.
Knowing the scientific benefits of compassion,
I decided to turn the situation and to get a new experience.
I turned to meditation.
I took a few deep breaths.
Actually,
There were many,
Many deep breaths.
And I went inside.
I realized that in that moment,
I needed support.
I had a lot of fears,
And I was just tired.
When realizing that,
I decided to give myself some rest without even thinking about the exam or what may happen after.
It helped me to ground myself into the present moment.
And from that point,
I could definitely prepare for my exam better and to pass it with a calm heart.
Scientific research has shown that compassion has a lot of benefits.
It can reduce stress,
Ease in anxiety and depression.
It can help us improve our immune system and not even speaking about the relationships in our life.
By practicing compassion,
We not only develop our understanding,
But also a connection to others.
And that knowing really helped me in that situation with an exam and cultivating self-compassion.
Compassion at its core is a deep wish for all the living beings to be free from suffering.
It is the deep understanding of our interconnectedness in this life.
And by practicing compassion,
We will benefit not only ourselves,
But we can contribute to a more harmonious and kind world.
One effective way to cultivate compassion is by practicing mindfulness meditation.
Let's make a little experiment and try not to blink as long as we can.
Let's see who will win.
Okay,
Okay,
I'm sure that you're practicing,
You're trying very hard,
But we all know what will happen at the end.
We will blink because it will hurt our eyes,
Our eyes will become dry.
And eventually,
We want to avoid that by paying attention to the present moment,
To our experiences right now.
We can see the underlying wish to become free from suffering.
And this is what we all have in common.
And I strongly want to encourage you guys to practice compassion on a daily basis.
Try to incorporate into your life some small acts of kindness.
It can be a smile,
Even to a stranger,
A helping hand,
Or a kind word.
And I'm sure you will see how your life will change.
I'm sure that all of us have very sweet memories of a conversation with a dear friend or a significant other.
The words that they told us that really sink deep into our heart and that we still feel grateful for.
Even though this person or people may not be aware of that and may even forget about this conversation.
That is how love and compassion can have a ripple effect in our lives.
Practicing compassion and especially self-compassion is a lifetime journey.
So please be patient with yourself.
Acknowledge your progress and thank yourself for showing up for yourself and for the whole world.
Make compassion a part of your life.
And I'm sure that within a very short period of time,
You will see the magic happening within and around you.
Let me know your experience,
Your thoughts in the comments down below.
It really helps and I'm always very happy to connect with you.
And if you need support and personalized guidance on compassion,
Whether it's coaching or individual meditation,
Please let me know.
Bye.
