#3 Identification Creates The Illusion Of Reality | Yoga Sutras Of Patanjali

This world is a projection that appears to be real because there is the identification of the witness to various forms of projection. In order to understand that, learn what is Chitta (the mind screen), Vritti (the projections on that screen), and the witness (the one who is experiencing the show).

Patanjali says:
Then the seer rests in his own unmodified state
In other states, the seer is identified with the modifications
