If you could design your perfect life,

What would it look like?

Were you able to answer that question?

Do you know what it is that you really want?

I guess what I have discovered is most people don't.

Most people are just going through the motions.

They are waking up every day,

Going through their typical routine,

Making the coffee,

Taking a shower,

Brushing the teeth,

Going to work.

Then they go to bed,

Wake up and do the same thing.

So most people don't know what it is that they really want,

Where their passions are,

Their purpose.

What I'm going to do is show you how to expand your expectations out of life.

Show you how to dream again.

And then how to make these dreams your reality.

So try and remember being a child when you used to exist in that land of infinite possibilities.

When we used to live without boxes and restrictions.

We didn't have a job,

A house,

Car,

Mortgage.

We just had endless possibilities.

When did we stop dreaming?

When did that happen?

When did we just box ourselves in and accept our circumstances as all that we can have or be?

I believe happiness and joy truly exist only in the realm of expansion and growth and dreaming.

The problem is we don't dream.

We can't dream because we have all of these limiting beliefs,

These blocks,

These things that stop us,

These what ifs,

Buts,

Why nots that keep us right where we're at.

So pretend that in front of you is a giant pot filled with the endless possibilities of all that is.

You've been given permission to reach into that pot and pull out anything that your heart desires.

Anything.

It's all right there in the pot.

So what are you going to pull out?

If you could pull out anything,

What would your ideal relationship look like?

Where would you be living?

Why?

Why would you be living there?

How does this space fulfill you?

What would each day look like as far as day to day activities?

Doing this workshop over the years and asking these questions,

I can definitely say I've heard many limiting beliefs from people as they express their dreams.

For example,

One woman I encountered had expressed her dreams to me.

At first they seemed to be a recreation of the life that she was already living.

She expressed that she was happy at exactly where she was at.

Everything was fine.

She seemed happy in her relationship,

And life was giving her what she wanted.

So being that this exercise is all about expansion,

I kept digging,

Looking for more,

Wanting to find out more about who she really was.

So if we were able to remove the reality that she already knows,

Would there be more?

I discovered that was the key.

The key was to let go of the reality that you know.

You have to let go of all the things that you expect when you're talking about your dreams.

I need you to step outside of that.

So talking about the things that you would want if you could imagine it from a place where none of this stuff that you have today exists.

So just going into your true self,

Your passions,

Your purpose,

The things that you would do if you could do anything with your spare time.

And when I brought that into the discussion,

That was when she came around to,

Well,

If I could do anything,

It was to be a dancer.

And at that point,

It just seemed so silly that this hadn't come up already.

You just want to be a dancer,

Well then dance.

And we talked about that a little bit,

And she had at least 10 different reasons why that was not going to happen.

They all had come from and stemmed from the reality that she was living in,

That her husband was very jealous when she danced,

That she had children.

And at this point,

The children had already moved out of the house,

But she had stopped thinking about ever dancing again when she was responsible for taking care of the children.

She had a house,

She had to maintain a job,

So just no time for it.

And as we were saying these things out loud,

She started realizing that they really were just blocks,

And why wasn't she just doing it?

And so the next time I saw her,

She had came to me kind of excited and told me that she had sort of stepped in that direction.

She had changed a room into her house into a small studio,

Just clearing it out and putting in some mirrors,

And started dancing just on her own there.

The following week,

She came to me and told me that now she was taking dancing lessons and expanding on that,

And she seemed so excited.

You could see this glow about her.

And then now,

She has since wrote me emails filling me in on her new career as a dancer,

And now you can find her performing in shows all over the place.

This is what happens when we step into our dreams.

She wasn't able to achieve her dream or recognize her dream until she could see past her current circumstances.

She had to look past all the things that she thought made having her dream impossible.

So this exercise isn't about figuring out how to make things happen or how to get to that end result.

It's about expanding your creativity and connecting with your passion and purpose,

So just seeing the dream out there and just letting it unfold.

It is really easy to recognize your limiting beliefs when you simply allow yourself to wish from an unlimited well of abundance.

So if you have an unlimited well to pick from and you start noticing that instead of asking for the giant yacht,

You're looking for a paddle boat,

Or instead of looking for the extra guest house,

You're just taking a little small cottage.

You'll start to notice within there that you have these beliefs that constrict you believing that you can't really have that.

So you'll be fine with this.

So the best reference point to go back to finding expansion and unlimited dreaming is just imagining that you're going back to the childhood home,

The home that you grew up in,

And just sitting outside of that home and looking at the street where you used to play with your friends,

And just picturing yourself out there playing as you did as a child where you didn't have any of those responsibilities that we've stacked on ourselves as we've gotten older.

Here you are just with endless possibilities sitting before you where you were still dreaming,

Just imagining one day you could still be king or ruling the world even,

Just endless possibilities.

And if you just sat outside of that house closing your eyes and picturing that,

The weight being lifted,

All the constrictions gone,

The boxes,

The limiting beliefs disappearing,

And life again could be endless,

At that point what would you ask for?

So here's my guarantee.

If you just did this,

If you just spent a couple of minutes a day daydreaming,

My guarantee is your life will change.

You will see yourself moving in the direction of happiness and joy.

Life will change.

So now I ask you to take a look around you right now,

And just for a moment imagine that we create our own realities.

So everything that you see around you,

The car that you drive,

The house that you're sitting in,

Is everything that you've created thus far.

So if that's the case,

What about what you see in front of you would you change?

So now again,

Go within and just close your eyes,

Imagine you're that child outside your house and you're picturing your future.

Describe your perfect relationship,

What would it be like?

What would it feel like?

How would the exchange be?

Would there be passion?

How would you interact?

What would you do with your perfect soulmate?

Where are you living and why are you living there?

How does this space fulfill you?

What does each day look like as far as day to day activities?

I mean what are you doing with your time?

If you could have anything,

Again that endless possibilities.

What are you doing every day?

And how do you see yourself in that world touching the lives of those around you?

Here's one of the best exercises to let go of the reality that you know and allow yourself to expand into the reality that you want.

So one of the things that we do in our workshop is taking a million dollars and sitting down just imagining somebody just handed you a million dollars and you can spend it on anything that you want.

And you'll find that most people are paying off their debts,

Paying off their houses,

Their cars,

Maybe getting a new car,

Traveling a little bit,

Maybe a boat.

And then we give them five million dollars and tell them to go ahead and spend that.

And people sit down and they think and it's a lot of work to come up with what will they do with this five million dollars.

Most of the time they're getting a vacation home in Hawaii or a much nicer house,

Maybe even waterfront with a yacht sitting outside and maybe even traveling the world or experiencing new things,

Quitting their job,

That kind of thing.

And then we give them ten million dollars and this seems to be the most difficult,

Taking a long time to figure out what to do with this ten million dollars.

And you see them sitting down,

You know,

Maybe now getting a private jet to travel the world on and a much bigger yacht sitting outside,

Maybe a vacation home in Greece,

Maybe even a couple more,

Maybe a twenty acre ranch.

The key to this exercise is the fact that once you've sat down and spent a million dollars,

Initially that's kind of difficult.

It's already kind of stretching outside of your day to day realities.

And then we step into five million and here you're really struggling to figure out what to do with five million dollars.

And now you've kind of gotten comfortable once you're sitting at ten million spending a little bit more,

It's getting easier.

So when you revisit the million,

All of a sudden it seems so much more attainable.

This is an exercise for expansion.

You have expanded.

Take this exercise and do it a few more times.

The reason I urge you to do this is because the key to your happiness is going to lie in your unlimited dreams.

Before we move past this portion of the workshop,

I need you to have such a clear picture of what your dreams are that you'd be able to describe them to me and to anybody else as if they were holding the magic wand,

Able to grant you your wishes.

And they have to first know exactly what it is that you're wishing for.

They have to be able to see it too.

Once you have that picture,

You have to analyze it and find the essence.

The essence is like igniter fluid.

It is what allows your inner spark to grow brighter and then along with that will come the enthusiasm so that you can step into your dreams.

Being specific about the details of your dream will help lead you to the essence of your dream.

For example,

If you see yourself with a new car,

What is this car like?

Is it a sports car where you find yourself looking for speed and excitement?

Or maybe it's a more economical car,

Gas efficient and reliable.

When you start to describe the new car in detail,

You'll be able to look for the essence like the reliability and maybe you'll be able to implement that right now in the car that you have going and getting an oil change or fixing that car up and making it more reliable.

And there you're living in the essence of your dream already.

Maybe you're looking for a new coat and after describing the coat in detail,

You might find that the essence of the coat is something warm,

Attractive,

Durable.

And after you become clear about this essence,

You'll see that many coats might meet the needs or even a sweater.

So not just that specific vision that you had of that perfect coat,

But you could find the essence in so many other things.

As you describe your dream home,

You'll be able to whittle away the extravagance and discover the essence,

Finding the functions that you're looking for in your house to serve.

Maybe your dream house is on five acres and the nearest neighbor is 10 miles away and you find that what you're really looking for is privacy.

Or maybe you want a large kitchen and a spacious room to entertain in or a pool in the backyard because you enjoy being around people and friends.

These features are the essence of your house.

If you find that you've pictured your house near water because that water seems to center you,

Maybe a stream or a pond would serve the same purpose or essence.

Or visiting a lake nearby will provide you with the same feeling.

If you focus solely on the appearance or the picture of your new home in great detail,

But they're not clear on the functions that you want your house to fulfill,

You might get the house identical to the one you pictured and discover that you still aren't happy because the house doesn't serve your needs.

A perfect example of this is a time I had done this exercise with a friend of mine.

The exercise consisted of her telling me about her dream home.

She had created a detailed picture-perfect description of her ideal home.

This home was an A-frame house in a country setting.

She wanted the space on the very top floor to be all hers so she'd be able to gaze out her window and see nothing but nature surrounding her.

What she neglected to mention was the essence of the home.

What other purposes this home would serve for her.

Was the essence of the home a country setting?

Solitude and peace and quiet?

An escape from the busyness of life?

Within a couple of months of making her request,

She found herself separating from her husband and in need of a new place to live.

She searched the Wanads until she found the perfect house.

This house happened to be an A-frame house with a long private driveway surrounded by serenity in every direction.

Her dream,

Right?

However,

She was only renting the top room in the house and the downstairs was occupied by a couple and their child.

So after only a few weeks living in this house,

She discovered that this home was missing the essence of what she wanted.

Instead of peace and quiet,

She had a small child running around and she felt confined to her room instead of connected to nature.

That story is a perfect example that even if you know the form of what you want,

You still need to know the essence as the essence is what fulfills us.

So now you have learned to dream,

Expand your dreams and find the essence of your dreams.

The next step in the process of realizing your dreams is to take action.

When you make a request or launch a dream,

The universe doesn't understand your intentions behind something.

It only responds to three things,

Thought,

Feeling and action.

You know what you want and you know what your dreams are,

But how will you ever get there if you keep staying here?

You have to surrender the familiar in order to experience a miracle.

You must take action.

Action usually involves stepping outside of your comfort zone into something new.

To step into your dreams,

You have to step outside of what you know and this can be very uncomfortable.

If your goal is to expand the reality you have grown to know,

To start expecting more out of life,

You can start by getting to know your greatness detector.

The greatness detector is that uncomfortable feeling that you get in the pit of your belly when you're stepping into something new,

Something unknown.

To expand,

It's essential that you keep finding your comfort zone and stepping outside of it.

You can think of this as standing in a circle,

The circle that holds all that you know and feel comfortable with.

However,

Everything that you wish you had was just outside of that circle.

You start by visualizing yourself having these experiences,

These experiences that lie just outside of your circle and soon an opportunity arises for you to step outside of that circle and into this newness.

However,

Since it is unknown,

It is uncomfortable so your butterflies start kicking in.

I'm telling you that instead of running in the other direction which is our first instinct,

Know that this is actually the detector,

The detector that is telling you that greatness is just outside of your circle.

Step into it.

So the key is to start to love that feeling of butterflies in your stomach because this will be your signal,

The signal that you're on the verge of greatness.

Think of any person that you know that has achieved great things and ask them how often they experience the feeling of being pushed outside of their comfort zone.

They would probably tell you several times a day.

How do you know what actions to take?

This is decided by divine inspiration.

You know the end result,

You focus on it and in each moment of the day,

You are faced with choices to either move in the direction of the dream or away from that dream.

If you want the path revealed to you,

You must first focus on the seven steps to realizing your dreams.

Step one is acceptance.

Two,

Distinguishing between ego and passion or purpose.

Three,

Understanding a collective community and service.

Four,

Saying yes to new experiences.

Five,

Always starting from the end.

Six,

Recognize your passions.

And seven,

Gratitude.

So let's start with acceptance.

I wake up and surrender each day to the universe,

Accepting that everything that happens that day,

Regardless of what it feels like in the moment,

Is for my greater good.

I like to think of acceptance as a river.

You're either flowing with the river and accepting your circumstances or you're rejecting your circumstances,

Grabbing onto a rock on the side of the river and getting beat up by the current and creating your own suffering.

Here's an example of that.

So imagine that you're driving along and you get a flat tire.

You were in a hurry to get somewhere,

So you're really frustrated at this point.

You get out of your car and then it starts raining.

You have every right in this moment to be angry at the world.

But then you remember that this morning you surrendered,

Agreeing to accept every moment as one leading you to your greater good.

Had you gotten angry,

You would have jumped into the side of the river,

Grabbing that rock and been beat up by the current.

But since you remembered that you had surrendered,

You accepted your circumstances and stayed flowing with the river and on your way to your dreams.

You have to trust that the universe knows better what it has in store for you than our rational minds can see.

The second step on the path is distinguishing between ego and passion or purpose.

When you start to develop that list of wants and wishes,

Ask yourself if they're ego-driven or passion and purpose-driven.

When something is ego-driven,

It'll suck your energy,

Your enthusiasm,

Your happiness.

You'll never feel satisfied,

Always trying to look better in the eyes of everyone else.

This is an impossible feat because a group of 30 people will all have completely different opinions of you,

So you'll never please everyone.

And the ego will always feel dissatisfied.

If you are creating a goal that is purpose and passion-driven,

You will have enthusiasm.

Enism is a word given to us from the Greeks.

This word translates to a God within.

Within you is an infinite,

Passionate soul,

Wanting more than anything to express itself.

So when it does,

Then you are living on purpose.

The third step on the path is understanding a collective community and service.

When we have a dream,

We will undoubtedly need others to help us make it a reality.

All wishes are granted as a collective community.

As stated in A Course in Miracles,

Alone we can do nothing,

But together our minds fuse into something whose power is far beyond the power of its separate parts.

The kingdom cannot be found alone,

And you,

Who are the kingdom,

Cannot find yourself alone.

Think for a moment about going to the grocery store and imagine how many people it took working together to get that orange available for you to purchase and then eat.

You had to depend on all those people as a collective community so that orange could arrive just as you wanted it.

You must start to feel connected to every individual that crosses your path,

Even the ones you think are blocking your path.

Everyone is serving your purpose.

For you to contribute to this collective community,

You must always find a way to be of service,

Even if this just means asking yourself in every situation and with every person you encounter,

What can I contribute to this moment?

How can I benefit this individual right now?

Step number four on the path to your dreams is saying yes to new experiences.

Say yes to everything.

Trust that you are always safe and every experience offers you some growth and expansion.

How will you expand your awareness if you don't allow yourself to have new experiences?

Imagine that every invitation that comes your way is an opportunity to get you one step closer to your dreams,

Even if that connection seems almost impossible to make.

For example,

You've always wanted to learn how to drive a sailboat,

But you could never afford lessons,

And then a friend invites you to dinner one night.

You saw the guest list and you realized you wouldn't know anyone there.

You didn't want to feel uncomfortable,

But you remembered that you must always step into the uncomfortable and say yes to new experiences.

So you go.

It turns out that one of the other guests owns a sailboat and he offers you free lessons.

You would have never received these lessons if you had not said yes.

The next step on your path to realizing your dreams is always starting from the end.

It's not up to you to figure out how your dreams will arrive or to try to design a perfect sequential order in which things must happen on your way to your goal.

You have to lead the how up to the universe and just keep your focus on the end result,

Believing it to already be in existence.

You have to close your eyes and envision that end result,

Knowing exactly what it will feel like when you have it,

Knowing what it will be like,

And imagining how people will treat you.

You have to know how to recognize it when it arrives.

So imagine the book already written.

Imagine the wedding to your soulmate.

Imagine the vacation of your dreams or the career you've always wanted,

And just let the path to get there reveal itself to you as you are ready to receive it.

It's when we start trying to figure out how exactly we can arrive at our dreams that all of our blocks show up.

For example,

How can I write a book?

I don't have any time or connections in a literary world.

How am I going to meet my soulmate?

All the good ones are taken.

I never have time to go on a vacation or money.

But you never know exactly how these things will show up for you.

Maybe you could enter a contest and win the vacation.

You might meet the man of your dreams at the grocery store when you feel divinely inspired in the middle of the night to grab popcorn.

You never know how that book could arrive either.

You can't decide how things are going to happen.

You just have to look at the end result.

And number six on the path is recognize your passions.

What do you do with your free time?

Know what ignites your soul and do it.

You must love and cherish yourself first.

Ask yourself what do you get excited about?

If you have free time,

How do you spend it?

Start to pay attention to those moments when you're talking and all of a sudden your heart rate starts to rise.

You start noticing that you're talking faster and you feel a burst of energy.

This is a signal that you've stumbled upon something that you are passionate about.

And then start to find ways to incorporate those things into your life as you recognize them.

This is the last of our seven steps but is by far the most important.

Gratitude.

Gratitude is a state of being,

A way of life.

One of the most important steps in creating a vision and then manifesting it is feeling grateful for it even before it comes.

This shows faith.

It shows you believe.

Gratitude is also a way to expand your heart.

When you learn to view every situation through the lenses of love and passion,

You'll start to see beauty everywhere you look.

You can start practicing this by finding five things a day to be grateful for.

Eventually as you start to express gratitude more often,

You'll start to have more things to be grateful for.

You might find yourself grateful for the sun to warm your skin or the rain to wash the air,

Grateful for the tree outside your window or the car that gets you to work every day.

All those things that we take for granted will start to mean something to you.

As you start to find new things to be grateful for,

Like a magnet,

More things will be drawn to you.

We can choose any belief we want to and find proof to verify it's true.

So if you're looking for things to be upset about,

You'll find them.

And the same goes for looking for things to be grateful for.

Alright,

Thanks.
