My name is Des and I will be guiding you through a body scan and meditation for Earth Connection.
Please come into a comfortable shape of your choice,
Whether that is a seated position with the spine erect,
Crown of the head reaching up towards the sky,
Sit bones rooted into the earth or a chair,
Or laying down on your back.
Become aware of your breath.
Is the inhale shallow or deep?
How long can you draw out the exhale?
Feel the breath move along the passage between the navel and the throat.
On inhalation,
It rises from the navel to the throat.
On exhalation,
It descends from the throat to the navel.
Bring complete awareness to the breath from navel to throat,
Throat to navel.
We will begin a rotation of consciousness through different areas of the body.
As I say the body part,
You may either repeat after me in your mind's eye or visualize the body part.
We will begin with the right hand.
Right hand thumb,

Become aware of the space occupied by the body.
Observe the points of connection your body is making to the surface beneath you.
Be aware of the meeting points of your body and the ground beneath you.
Notice the breath,
The inhalation from navel to throat,
The exhalation from throat to navel.
Bring your attention to the soles of your feet.
Imagine roots growing from your feet and snaking their way into the floor and into the earth.
The roots keep winding down,
Down,
Down,
Until they reach the earth's core.
Visualize the core,
The center of the earth,
A bright glowing orb,
Different shades of yellow,
Orange,
Red,
Burning bright.
The roots attached to this energy and the colors move their way back up,
Moving all the way up,
Up,
Up to the soles of your feet.
The yellow,
Orange,
And red meet to your feet,
Toes glowing,
Ankles,
Calves burning bright with the energy from the earth's core,
Right and left knee,
Both thighs,
Sacrum,
Glutes.
The glow moves over your lower abdomen,
Lower back,
Whole torso,
Your internal organs bright with this energy,
Chest,
Upper back,
Whole back glowing,
Shoulders down,
The right arm,
Wrist.
Right thumb and each finger on the right hand.
Left arm,
Elbow,
Wrist,
Thumb,
Each finger on the left hand.
Up and around the front and back of the neck,
Over the jaw,
Lips,
Nose,
Cheeks,
Forehead,
Back of the head,
And over the top of the head.
The glow expands as you breathe,
Your whole body a light from the energy of the earth.
As you inhale and exhale,
The glow becomes brighter and brighter,
Expanding outwards,
Engulfing the whole space you are in with warmth.
You are radiating.
Inhale,
Exhale,
Take full,
Deep breaths.
Notice any sensations,
Temperature of the air,
Sounds.
Tap into emotions.
Are you able to come to a place of acceptance?
Take a few more cycles of breath.
When you're ready,
Bring small movements into body.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Rock your head side to side.
Gently make the movements slightly bigger and bigger.
Rolling the wrists and the ankles.
Rolling the head.
Move at your own pace.
Slowly flutter the eyes open.
