Greetings and salutations.
My name is Dez,
And this is a Screaming Meditation for Release and Renewal.
I am coming to you from Ngozi Nguyen,
Peterborough,
Treaty 20,
And Williams Treaties in Ontario,
Canada.
The sounds of rushing water from Jackson Creek can be heard in the background.
This meditation is best done outdoors in a space where you feel safe and comfortable to let it all go.
If you are unable to find a space outdoors,
You can also do this in the comfort of your own home,
Perhaps with a pillow nearby if you want to scream into the pillow instead of a wide open space.
I invite you to join me in a standing position if you are able to do so,
Or you can also be seated if that is more accessible to you.
Take this time to notice your surroundings,
Taking note of the space that you are in,
Observing the sights,
The sounds,
The sensation of the air on your skin,
Any sense that may arise,
Trying to ground down in your feet or your sit bones,
Maybe having a little bend in your knees,
Option to bring movement in by swaying side to side,
Observing your breath,
How do the inhales feel?
And how do the exhales feel?
I invite you to take at least two big inhales and exhales.
And after that third inhale,
Planting your feet,
Rooting down and release through your mouth with a scream or a yell coming deep from within your belly.
Let it all go.
Come back to your breath.
Maybe coming back to the movement.
Notice how it feels to have released whatever was inside.
Take another big inhale and scream.
Let it all go.
Coming back to stillness,
Continuing to sway or rock,
Maybe bending into one knee and the other as you move side to side.
We'll do that one more time.
Big inhale and release.
Let it all go.
Yell it out.
Flail,
Move your body however you wish.
Come back to the space that you are in.
Once again,
Taking in your surroundings.
Breathe deep into your belly.
Release out your mouth.
Shrug the shoulders up to the ears and roll them down back behind you.
You can do that a couple more times.
Thank you for joining me today.
I hope you were able to cultivate whatever you needed in your heart that you choose to extend that out into your communities.
