Lektion 1
The Simple Here & Now
In this session we will learn about the central role of the autonomic nervous system in relaxation. We will explore the connection between the mind and body, and how thoughts and feelings have the power to either assist or block the relaxation process. We will discover how the simple, sensory sensations of the ‘here and now’ trigger the Parasympathetic relaxation response.
Lektion 2
Lowering Your Inner Intensity
In this session we will continue to learn about the mind-body connection in relation to the relaxation process. We explore which mental attitudes are most conducive to relaxation. We will discover how to engage attention in ways that automatically signal the brain and nervous system to relax.
Lektion 3
Letting Go of 'Doing'
In this session we will learn how the mind and body become habituated to stress and tension. We discover why it is necessary to let go of the constant need be busy in order for the relaxation process to function effectively, and explore simple ways to do this.
Lektion 4
Allowing Everything to Just Be
n this session we will learn how an attitude of acceptance frees the mind to surrender to the relaxation process. We continue to explore how attitude and perception affects the ability to relax and we will discover simple ways to be in the moment with non-attachment.
Lektion 5
Grounding for Relaxation
In this session we will learn how the practice of grounding is a natural and powerful way to calm the mind and release stress and tension. We now introduce physical practice through awareness and breathing to combine with mental attitude and learn that a combination of both is necessary in order to master the ability to relax.
Lektion 6
Breathing for Relaxation
In this lesson we will learn that the way we breathe is directly connected to our current mental, emotional and physical state and determines our overall levels of relaxation. We continue to build on physical practice to support relaxation and explore how to use the breath to trigger the Parasympathetic relaxation response. We will learn how breath awareness is fundamental to maintaining healthy everyday levels of relaxation.
Lektion 7
Giving Yourself Permission to Rest
In this session we will learn why it’s necessary to give ourselves permission to rest in the present moment in order for us to be able to surrender to the relaxation process. We explore how to relax in stages using the power of intention combined with breath awareness.
Lektion 8
Creating More Space
In this session we will learn how our sense of personal space affects our ability to relax. We explore ways to gain an increased sense of personal space to help us feel less pressured by the everyday demands of life. We will discover how this automatically helps to relax the breath and calm the mind.
Lektion 9
Self-Compassion
In this session we learn how self-compassion underpins the process of relaxation. We explore ways to hold ourselves with kindness and acceptance to help us surrender fully and deeply to relaxation. We discover how being kinder to ourselves supports our health and well-being generally by helping to ensure we get sufficient relaxation on a day-to-day basis.
Lektion 10
Putting It All Together
In this session we will review how the multi-layered process of relaxation involves every aspect of our being: mental, physical and emotional. We will explore how combined simple daily mental and physical practice can bring about lasting change by retraining the mind and body to relax more easily and effectively.
