Good morning,
Welcome to the day.
Have a stretch,
Crack open a window,
Take a breath of fresh air,
Wake yourself up.
Make sure your curtains,
Blinds are open,
Make sure you've got lots of light into the room.
I'd like to remind you quickly that at some point across the morning or the day today you'll probably be presented with some sort of challenge,
Something unpleasant or negative which you'd rather not hear,
You'd rather not happen,
You'd rather not see.
That's just how life works.
So prepare yourself now in case it does happen.
It's not guaranteed but it's possible.
That way when it comes up you can just use your mindfulness to acknowledge it,
Say aha I saw you coming,
Thank you friend for coming to me today.
And so you short circuit the usual response of annoyance,
Anger,
Worry or whatever your reaction is.
So here are some useful mindful tips and things to remember for today.
Tip number one,
Remember some things might be hard but you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
Tip number two,
Try to practice forgiveness today.
Whatever it is,
Whoever it is,
Remember that hurtful actions tend to come from a place of fear,
Pain or misunderstanding.
Be careful though,
If you're trying to forgive someone close to you for something big,
Remember that forgiveness is a two way street.
If they're not willing to go their way,
Consider whether it's really worth the effort of forgiving them.
Tip number three,
Raise your blood sugar this morning with an orange.
As you peel and eat it,
Take a moment to allow yourself just to be aware of the different shapes and textures you see,
The smell,
The taste and so on.
No need to force anything,
Just allowing yourself a little break from life,
To step outside yourself as much as you want,
Gently paying attention to the orange.
Other fruits will do just fine as well.
