How are your hands feeling?
As someone with degenerative arthritis in both hands,
My response to this is often,
Maybe you're right there with me.
Or maybe your hands are physically feeling fine,
But they could still use a break.
These next few minutes are for you.
A chance to give your hands some love.
Through helping your hands relax,
Help your whole body and mind.
Let your hands rest comfortably on your thighs if you're seated,
Or at your sides if you're lying down.
Bring your attention to your wrists,
Front.
Move your focus to the base of your thumb on each hand,
That part of your palm.
Flowing your focus slowly up your thumbs,
Releasing it out the tips of your thumbs.
Bringing your focus back to your palms and moving slowly up through and beyond your index fingers.
Up through and beyond your middle fingers,
Your ring fingers,
Your pinky fingers.
Flowing that focus back down to your palms.
Now slowly glide that focus around to the backs of your hands.
Spend some time at each one of your knuckles,
Just giving them a chance to relax.
There's no need to hold anything,
Physically,
Mentally,
Or emotionally,
Right now.
Just be.
Just relax.
Imagine your hands softly dipping below the surface of a cloud.
Your hands are loved.
They're yours.
As you prepare to move back into your day or night,
Notice how you're moving and feeling after this relaxation.
Whatever comes up,
You can handle it.
