Let's start by turning inward,
Closing your eyes or softening your gaze.
We begin with gentleness,
You're allowed to arrive exactly as you are.
There is no stress too great to be lessened.
Arrive in this moment just as you are,
No need to rush forward or to look back.
There is nothing you need to fix right now.
Gently place one hand over your heart and one hand on your belly.
Notice your own touch,
The warmth,
The sturdiness,
The safety.
With each breath,
Allow yourself to settle.
This is how healing begins.
We meet ourselves exactly where we are,
With love,
With softness,
With curiosity.
Whatever the specific flavor of your anxiety,
Relief comes from making space and meeting it with tenderness.
Notice your breath.
Just notice what it feels like to be a body breathing.
You can name your breath if it helps you to focus.
I am breathing in,
I am breathing out.
Learning how to meet your finances with ease and confidence will come when you're ready to turn inward and forgive yourself.
Forgive yourself for all the worry,
The mistakes,
The overworking or overspending.
Whatever causes you financial anxiety,
Just notice it and forgive yourself.
You're not bad.
You're not unskilled or undisciplined.
Your nervous system is in a survival response.
There is relief available when we slow down just a little bit and meet those tender feelings that are sometimes buried beneath all of the doing.
When we feel safe,
We learn new skills.
And for those of us who have disruptive money patterns or trauma in our history,
We can feel very unsafe in clarity or money conversations.
Notice if your body wants to move at all.
Maybe you want to rock gently back and forth or sway side to side.
Just notice how your system feels.
Why is financial clarity so scary?
Why does it fall to the bottom of the list?
Are you afraid to pay attention to your finances?
Are you afraid to ask for more?
Are you tired and exhausted from overworking,
Trying to out earn the chaos?
Or are you overwhelmed by not working enough,
Not feeling like enough,
Not earning enough?
If you fear not having enough or not being enough,
I just want to remind you that with this breath,
All your needs are met.
In this moment,
It's safe to soften,
To be right here.
With this breath,
You have enough.
With this breath,
You are enough.
Remind yourself,
I am enough.
Money can come from unexpected sources.
It's okay to release some of the tension and explore what it feels like to receive just for being you,
Exactly as you are.
Action that's driven by inspiration will always create more success than just pure drive to prove oneself.
Although sometimes the healing isn't just doing the thing that you're afraid of.
If you're having trouble doing something,
Whatever it may be,
If you're really struggling to do something,
It likely means you just don't have enough support yet.
Maybe you need to ask for help.
Gather your attention around your mental space and just notice what it feels like.
Are the thoughts racing?
Is it quiet and calm?
Does it feel heavy and foggy?
Drop down into your chest and explore what's happening in your heart.
Is your heart open?
Settled?
Tight and contracted?
Pounding?
Vibrating?
Just meet whatever's happening in your body with curiosity,
With gentleness and kindness.
And then drop down into your belly and notice what's happening there.
Now bring your attention to the surface beneath you,
Whether that's a seat,
A chair,
A bed,
The floor.
And just notice that you're being held.
In this moment,
It's safe to soften a little bit more into this surface that's holding you.
What does it feel like to be held?
Can you discern the sensations between you and the surface that you're on?
Their warmth,
Pressure,
Heaviness?
We will slowly transition from inner awareness to outer awareness,
Giving ourselves a few more seconds to wrap this up.
Gently flutter your eyes open and notice what the transition feels like.
See if you can hold on to the intersection between inner awareness and outer awareness.
And can you bring this sense of presence with a sense of safety into the outer world with you?
Thank you so much for sharing this meditation with me.
